This time I saved him, but now his wife was dead instead I was kind of worried that one of them was scripted to die, but when I reloaded again I saved both of them, and luckily no other people died.

Now if it were me I would have left the woodcutter guy dead, and went into his widow's shop and stole all her alchemy ingredients.

      Some questions:

      1) Is there any reason why I should hold off on leveling? I'm at five already and haven't done much outside of Riverwood. I've already dropped the difficulty a notch because some hired thugs kept killing me over and over again.

      2) I want a house...so since I'm not in a location where I can buy one, can I kill someone, take their key, and use their house as my own? Or will I risk losing items and stuff if I store them there.

      3) What kind of skills should I look at? I'm a two handed Nord, currently running with fur armor.

      Thanks!

        1) I believe the only benefit to waiting on leveling is that it fully replenishes your health. So, theoretically, you could use it when running low on health in a battle and completely heal yourself. I don't normally wait, though. I'm impatient.

        2) You can just marry someone and move in with them if you have the Amulet of Mara. I married that chick in Riverwood who's brother runs the General Store. I keep all my stuff in her chest upstairs. Cheaper than buying a house. Although you could do that too.

        3) The strategy guide suggests a one-handed weapon (Swords attack quickest but are weakest, axes are slower but more powerful, and maces are slower still yet even more powerful. I'm a Dark Elf, but I do use a sword as one of my main things and far prefer it to the other two one-handed weapon types.), a shield, and light armor (With bow and arrow for backup) if you're playing as a Nord.

            I hate bows and arrows.........

I'm a 2 handed sword type of guy. I just love driving my sword through people and lifting them up in the air while my sword is in them.

Over all I spend more time making weapons then anything else, other then walking around and setting animals on fire. This game has some really cool kill animations.

I had a dragon attack the town of Winterhold on my first visit to the town-just before my first visit to the college.

I thought you could effect the economy by setting the woodcutting place and such on fire? I still have yet to see that.

I play in 3rd person. 1st person games are too disorienting for me.

I walk around in third person but any fight is done in first person.

That's what I was planning on doing on my next character, but I keep it in 3rd when I'm doing range attacks.

I could never play this game in third person. While a huge step forward from Oblivion, I still don't think it's very good for combat.

                              1st person exclusively.

I tried 3rd for like a minute and it just felt off to me. Don't know why.

1st person only. Shooting the arrow just feels right in first person.
