I'll be getting my first taste of Skyrim, soon.

I've mentioned it in another thread, but GS messed up and gave me the Xbox bundle with the Skyrim voucher..

Getting the itch again...been wanting to play this for a few days now, haven't played since I traded my 360 back in the summer.

PS3 be damned, think I'm gonna go pick it up today.

I bet I could show those screenshots to my family at thanksgiving and 90 percent of them would ask me if I went on vacation there, or where it was having no idea it was a video game.

How do people think this looks good?

The Skyrim I'm running looks loads better than this.

This is a horrible enb preset overloaded with bloom and DoF, not to mention the lighting in many shots looks absolutely hideous.

Seriously, if anyone is looking for a proper lighting mod, try RCRN([skyrim.nexusmods.com]). It's beautiful, perfectly balanced colors, HDR and non-overwhelming DoF. Bloom is out of the picture totally so the game isn't shiny and blurry, it's crisp and clear.

These screenshots are just plain ugly, I don't understand why so many people love enb.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I saw that comment and just laughed. Some people out there are just never satisfied with something, unless they are the only ones who like it or are the first ones to like that.

That looks really good as well: http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/180

Though in fairness I think you could keep going and get it looking even better.

I refuse to believe this game can be made to look prettier than that dude's screenshots.

                  Yet somehow, it probably can.

Those shots are almost offensive to the senses. Good lord.

Is Dawnguard worth picking up even if I don't care about being a vampire lord? Its 50% off on Steam for another day and I'm still on the fence about it.

Only real negative I really had about Dawnguard was(slight DLC spoilers)

Thanks for the input. I don't really see that as a negative because it seems "realistic" in a sense.

Is there a bug involved with the counter that counts how many days you are a werewolf? I've been cured, yet it still keeps counting days I'm a werewolf. I'm still wearing the Wolf Armor, not sure if that makes a difference-it's very lightweight for heavy armor.

Over a year later and I am still in awe of this game. Can't wait for the new DLC to be released even though I am nowhere near finished with the main quests.

You might think differently when you start entering towns and every shop keeper is dead and they don't ever get replaced.

Level 33 right now. haven't done much on the main quest line, or dawnguard story line. I may start on dawnguard soon though.

mostly just ran around doing a few misc quests, did most of the thieves guild quest(stopped after I acquired a specific item that is useful with lockpicking), finished the main part of the Dark Brotherhood quest line. killed a ridiculous amount of dragons(way too easy, need to install the mod that makes dragons harder to kill). wearing light armor and using both a bow and 1-handed sword for combat.

my gear in spoiler, though not really spoiling anything.

I did build a house using Heartfire DLC. chose the Lakeview manor, which is close to the guardian stones you see at the start of the game. apparently some of my followers and housecarls I've met go there to hang out, which I guess is good as it gets attacked by bandits and giants from time to time.
