Jonesy, can't you just hotkey them to your d-pad? That's what it was in fallout anyway. I'm on PC, so i don't know about consoles, but what I do is open my favorite's menu, highlight the weapon and press the number(1-8) I want to hotkey the weapon to. Maybe you do the same, but press the direction on the d-pad? Honestly I don't know though.

Note to self: don't mess with Giants and Mammoths until I'm much stronger or have a HEAP of arrows.Last edited by dan_457; 11-13-2011, 11:10 PM.-Ohio State-

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Hey guys, yeah, I have my difficulty up to either the one above default, or two above. I can't recall which one I'm at. Default felt pretty easy after leveling up a little bit.

I'm thinking i should progress the story, and fight a few dragons since I've unlocked four shouts but don't have the power to use them.Comment

That sucks, that's got to a pain to navigate. Even with things hotkeyed it's slow, when I'm dual-wielding, then pulling a bow, then trying to use magic quickly in a battle it's bad enough, let alone without hotkeys.-Ohio State-

I found that if I hot key my bow on one of them, then equip my dual swords and hotkey the sword that is in my left hand I can swap between bow and dual swords. It's a little clunky though. If you're using the exact same type of weapon both hands it erases the hotkey when you switch sometimes. I had to make sure they were different weapons in each hand, now it works.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

My method is to do a main story quest, then 20 or so side/misc. quests, then back to the main quest. It provides a nice flow to the game.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Actually you can hotkey two things. Up/down brings up the favorite list but while you're in there you can hold Left or Right to set a hot key. Then you can swap between those two without bringing up the fav list.

Playing as a mage might be hard though with only those two quick change options. I hope they patch it so we have the choice where it's like fallout where all 8 directions on the d pad is a hot key and they give us the option to use that or the favourites setup like we have now. Not sure why they changed to the current system to be honest, the old way seemed to work well enough (aka better) in Fallout and Oblivion...Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I wish I could take a picture...I am conan the barbarian as anyone who's read my posts about these types of games knows. I'm a warrior theif. My character looks IDENTICAL to arnold in Conan the Barbarain, and I treat lpeople the way I would conceive him treating them in the same situation.
On top of that I evolve with his character as time passes from being more petty and selfish to realizing a greater purpose lol.
It's really cool though, the encounters and the style I'm having a lot of fun with it. For other Conan fans will understand...maybe I will meet my valeria? the only suitable one. Crom!
Anyway, this is quite a game bathesda has put together, a nice rare treat to really get into for a while without care as to length and order. One of my favourite things about the game is that it's oozing with the thought they put into it and it's so immersive.
I wanted to complain that there's no more torches, but the designing has made it petty. I practically relyed on those in oblivion.
In any case, this is like the Jordan or the Ruth or the SR Robinson of games, it's just on another level imo. There are other games that are "great" but this is the first ballot HOF'erLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I like that you can carry items into the other room then steal them in this game still. Although, overall the NPCs react more to everything you do.
Guard reaction to something that I didn't think was a problem. Spoilers just in case:
Spoiler
I was over encumbered in a town so I decided to drop all my weapons that I didn't need. The moment I dropped them a guard told me to never do that again or else. Something about leaving weapons lying around. It actually felt like it feels in real life when a cop catches you doing something wrong so I quickly picked up my weapons.
I'll be back for them later.
