Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game is Amazing!!....I'm speaking to the choir I"m sure at this point, but really there is almost too much to do in this game as main quests, sidequests, dungeon looting are all really fun activities.
My character is a wood elf named Borr Rhordas and he has a mohawk because he has swagger. But seriously, being a stealth archer is one of the more cooler gameplay experiences I've ever had in a game especially in caves and dungeons where you're able to go through and clear a whole area without being spotted. Out in the open it's fun too, but it can become dicey for me when my enemies come close and the blow becomes less effective, for that I run with a 1H weapon and magic which works well against bandits and low level enemies, but I"m feeling it might become less effective against tougher enemies.
Now to potential spoiler-related talk, which might be minor, major, or not even a spoiler, just want to stay on the safe side.
SpoilerDragon battles are really cool as they appear out of nowhere, the first encounter I had outside of the Whiterun quest related one was a WOW moment as the dragon soared in the sky over Darkwater Crossing, then then much to my chagrin, or maybe relief the dragon just went away.
However, I slayed another dragon out of Whiterun as it was attacking this one bandit camp a quest I was completing was tied too. The dragon killed every bandit so it was just me and him, and I'm only level 9, so needless to say I felt a little helpless. But I led him near the watchtower which he promptly attacked and the guards were able to help me down the dragon which was really cool.
The thing I like about this game is you really have to play to your characters strengths because it's hard to create a jack of all trades character.
Quick question, anyone having success with pickpocketing at say a level 20 because I'll sneak up on someone, try to pickpocket a light and cheap item and they still catch me even though the reticule says I'm hidden...am I missing something?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Played an 8 hour marathon.
I am hooked like a heroin addict.
Thus far I went the main quest route with some side quests mixed in (Kill the Bandit camp leader for example, and the Golden Claw which played right into the main quest). I am Moses a High Elf focused on Destruction, Healing, Enchantment, Alchemy, so far. I am doing good sneaking and lock picking as well. I have a very nice enchanted Bow and Ice Mace as well. I love wielding magic in both hands right now as I feel like a bad ***.....I tend to start on the good side but as I get more powerful I start to dabble into the world of a necromancer with some undead powers.
I am so into this game now and between this and Batman AC my sports gaming is all but done for at least a good solid 5-6 months.
I may have to change my thoughts on GOAT being Batman AC. Every hour I found myself saying ok I am done....only to get back into my chair and say ok one more town or one more random walk in the mountains to find something else.
Walking in a blizzard or gazing at a full moon, the music is top notch, the ambience is of the highest quality as well. A lot of love, time and effort went into this masterpiece of an RPG. I am only 12 hours in now and I can safely declare this is my all time favorite RPG. That title has been wrested away from Dragon Age Origins which by all means is still an E P I C adventure which I will play again and again with different builds. But the open world brilliance of Skyrim is just the ultimate escape and a true RPG.
I love the fact you can be anyone or anything. I look forward to creating other characters and being a lowly scum bag thief (that reptile race would be my choice for that), or a deadly Wood Elf Hunter, or a pure Necromancer Dark Elf.
I no doubt see 300 plus hours going into this game between 2 or three builds.
Outstanding job on this title and it shows just how much better non-sports games are on this generation. It's not even close. Now Playing on PS5:

I have more basic questions. When looking at getting better weapons and the other weapon adds something like 10 frost damage, is that in addition to the base damage? So a hunters bow that does 10 base damage but adds 10 frost damage, that is a better bow than an Orcish bow that does 16 damage right?Comment

Because I found a frost bow, used its available charge, so I'm need of recharging it right now.
Also arrows gain their potency from the bows right?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SpoilerSo I ran around doing some sidequesting, and got back to the first town where you have to talk to the Imperial soldier's uncle. I did that, and the quest wouldn't progress. I was getting really frustrated, so me and my mercenary friend wiped out the whole town. Quest failed, but it was still fun. Also, for anyone doing the Winterhold College quest, do I have to cast the intial fear spell outside of town for the quest to advance. I tried doing it to a chicken, but no go.
I'm assuming I have to do the fear spell without the law getting involved?

To recharge an enchanted weapon would I first need to break down a weapon of a similar type to understand how the weapon is enchanted similar to to the way in which you create enchanted weapons from scratch or do I just need a soul gem?
