Question about wood as I'm someone who's new to the game. What can I do with it? I've chopped some, but that's it. I've done smithing and understand why metal is important, but what can I do with the wood I've cut?

Wait, I think I know. Make bowls, plates and spoons? I was hoping for a cabin, haha.

Certain types of weapons need chopped wood to refine them (and maybe craft from scratch), Long Bows for example. You can also sell it directly to people at wood mills for pretty decent coin.

I know I've been playing to much Skyrim when I see some mushrooms growing in the yard and think to myself "I wonder if I should pick those".

Taking a break to watch some boxing. Took me about 5 attempts to actually walk away from the game. Each time I saved it, got out of my chair to turn the xbox off, started playing while moving towards my xbox only to sit down and play another quest before repeating this process.

I've been in 3 dragon fights so far (not including the main quest one) and 2 of those times a giant and his mammoths have helped fight the dragon for me haha. But if I attack the dragon and it's near them after the battle they then proceed to attack me...Bad friends. Oh well, I'll take the dragon souls.

Oh for those who don't know, you can manipulate objects in the console version. Put your cursor over a item and hold down the A(360), X(PS3) to move them around.

Also I found the place to cut wood in Whitefall but can't find the place to sell it at there. Where I go? Only area I know for sure to cut and sell is the first little town you visit.

I also kind of wish that they added a little mini game type this the the Wood Cutting and stuff. Kind of gets boring when your trying to make money cutting wood only to just sit there and watch him do it.

Well unfortunetly real life resumes after tonight. However after Tuesday night I'll have a week off so should get some more good time in the game.

*******. Maybe it's just because I'm Dragonborn and special, but they are no challenge at all. MUCH tougher enemies out there, like the giants you mentioned. The word wall defenders are very hard, and I got my *** handed to me by some Wisp Mothers. I've never even come close to dying from a dragon attack. It's still fun because I could use the souls but once that's done, I'm gonna get irritated from them invading my space.

Just finished up the thieves guild chain.

It was everything I had hoped for and more. I did the whole thing before talking to Whiterun's Jarl, so I haven't even killed the first dragon yet.

The whole quest line, and those are all I did. Saved the offshoots I got from random people until after, brought me to level 27.

Khajiit. 23 Destruction (rarely used), 39 Enchanting, 51 Smithing, 43 1handed, 38 archers, 45 light armor, 86 sneak, 59 lockpicking, 52 pickpocket. Also 38 speech, just from selling items. and 24 alchemy from dabbling.

No real spoilers above, nothing said about any of the quests. Just did it for safety reasons.

I took away my life for this weekend. Plus this is my third character (albeit the highest by far.) I think my 2Hand warrior-type is at 15/16 because I did the Companions quests.

To move items you don't have to hold the button the whole time, hold it till it's picked up then tap it again to drop it.

I found another sawmill elsewhere besides Riverwood and the process was the same there. Who ever is operating the big saw that cuts whole trees in half should buy the wood. I haven't been to Whitefall yet so I can't say if there is a big sawmill there.
