I encountered my second dragon, and I'd have to say.. Fighting a bear is alot tougher than fighting both the dragons I have fought.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Just found a spell related to mining...
SpoilerIt lets you turn Iron ore into silver ore and silver into gold. Basically I just turned a crapload of iron ore I took out of a mine into gold ingots. I'm rich!Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Definitely. This is similar to how it worked in Fallout 3 which I loved. The only major difference is that Fallout 3 required a specific lockpicking level to even attempt some locks. Skyrim lets you attempt any lock but those above your skill level are extremely difficult if not impossible.
One is when I try to lock pick sometimes the picks just break without me touching anything. Is this the game or my controller being broke?
BECAUSE....when I goto my journal the and try to select specific parts of a quest the game wont light me highlight any other entries. It scrolls up like im pressing up when im not.Last edited by USF11; 11-12-2011, 09:11 PM."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game is crazy, I don't know what it is but I'm never into RPGs and not a huge fantasty guy. I really just play sports games and shooters/action games. Even other open world games I don't really get behind played all the GTAs etc. but Red Dead is the only one I stuck with all the way through. This game just has me in it's clutches. Got it last night and have already put about 7 hours in and even when I turn it off to take a break 10 minutes later I want to start playing again. The size of the world is just so incredible, every time I go off to a waypoint to start or complete a quest I just get sidetracked going off to find out what's down a different path or what those buildings are in the other direction.
I'm using a dark elf focusing on sneaking and archery and I'm loving it so far. Up to about 33 for archer and 30 for sneaking. My only complaint is since I'm so focused on archery my one and two handed combat is noticeably behind but still in the mid 20's so close quarters battles are really hit or miss but I've made it through so far, just kind of trial and error after dying a few times.
Playing on PS3 and have had one lock up so far where I had to power off my console but other than that I've had no problems, there's some texture pop in for plants and stuff on the ground a little ways in front of you but the sky and the background with the mountains all around just looks so incredible it doesn't matter. I could keep going but I don't want to turn this into a 10,000 word post, I love this game and even though I was liking MW3 and still playing some madden and fifa this will probably be the only game I play for quite awhile.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Question for those that have completed the first few parts of the main quest:
SpoilerWhat happens if you never go to Whiterun to fight the first dragon? Do you still get random dragon encounters? Can you still learn the shouts when you finish a dungeon?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Started the main quest then got in to mining and smithing. The dragons can wait. The simple joy of going out and mining ore and tanning hides to make and sell weapons keeps me coming back. Made enough $ to buy a house. Get some extra income by hunting down bounties. Couldn't be happier just doing that and some alchemy for posioning my arrows.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
So just a mining question.
Do you get pointed in the direction of ores, and how do you get them? Do you just wield a pickaxe and attack the rock and then it does the work?
And can you chop down any tree in the game for woodcutting?
Klocker you just open the book and if it has a quest you instantly get the quest or skill increase related.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
If you find an ore vein (they're just scattered with no indications on the map) you can interact with it with the action button. If you have a pick in your inventory then you'll proceed to mine the ore. Each ore vein only allows so much mining till it's empty.
You can not just chop down any tree. You can only cut wood at certain places and then only if you have a woodcutter's axe in your inventory.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Wait, I think I know. Make bowls, plates and spoons? I was hoping for a cabin, haha.Comment
