      Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I played for about an hour or so and to be honest I wasn't that impressed (my expectations were crazy high though). It was decent and all but it didn't even seem like that much of an improvement from oblivion and fallout that I was wowed or anything. I turned the game off and went to bed thinking 'yeah its good but I don't see myself getting as addicted to this as oblivion or fallout 3'. Day two comes around I put it on for a quick go while my daughter goes for a sleep and two hours later I am totally and utterly HOOKED. This game is friggen AWESOME!!

The intro etc didn't really seem that impressive imo and maybe I have been spoiled becauseI had been playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time over the last few months and that game is amazing. With that being said once you get into it and start exploring the world this game is pure crack and I seriously can't wait to get back on tonight!!!

      Sorry I doubted you skyrim!

I'm just at the beginning of the game(just entered Riverwood) but I'm a Wood Elf.

Should I start over as Redguard?

          Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Ok I dont know what I did or who I pissed off but everytime I try to go back to Riverwood there are thugs waiting on me and as soon as I enter the area I hear one of them say, "We are going to teach you a lesson", or something like that then they attack me. Its 3 of them and they hand me my a** everytime. I noticed that their name said hired thugs so I know I had to piss someone off. There is no way of getting around them because I have to go see the blacksmith for my main quest.

EDIT: I was doing the College of Winterhold missions to try and improve my magic. Well after i finished the Under Saarthal Quest I left the tunnels to go back to Winterhold and as soon as I walk out the door I hear, "We are going to teach you a lesson." Then im like "o s***" because I knew what was about to happen. I look around see the 3 hired thugs running after me. After dyeing a couple times I tried to run. Well that didnt work out at first because as soon as I put some distance in between a frost wolf came running after me and i stood no chance at a lv. 6. So I try and run from them again but this time I keep them close to me but out of striking distance. Once I got to the frost wolf i start running in circles so that the thugs and the wolf is chasing me but in the shuffle the thugs start attacking the wolfs. When I seen this I held down L2 and got the heck up out of there. While running away I was turning every single corner so that the thugs couldnt find me. It was like I was really running from someone irl lol.

Since they were waiting for me there hopefully i can go back to Riverwood and they wont be there. Now I wish I could find out why the heck they are coming after me.

Why? What's your thought process? What's the problem with your Bosmer? This game isn't really about right/wrong. It's about finding your own style.

Those guys handed my *** to me too. I was at low level when they came for me. What I ended up having to do was lower the difficulty to Novice so I could beat them. Then raised it back up to Adept.

Exactly. The beauty of this game is finding your own style and basing actions on that. So just play the game and let the world come to you. Doing what others do or have done isnt what its all about. Make your own mark on the world.

After seeing some spells and such I want to start over as another character that is a pure Mage. Only thing stopping me is my character now is lvl 13 and I have played him like a lot, lol. Most of the last 2 days I was playing. :P Love getting my errands situated and having time to play. Being off work was a plus as well.

Holy cow.. really hard to stop playing. Around 5 minutes after my last post in this thread is when I started... and right now is when I've stopped

What a game. Luckily the wife and little ones are at the in laws for the night, so it has been game on for Skyrim.

Guards help? I've had thugs attack me right in front of them and all they did was watch or run away when the fight got too close to them. This was in a town called Falkreath (which had Imperial guards).

Currently at level 10 with my Imperial. Had a few vampire run-ins and man, some of those guys are TOUGH! I've kinda spammed a little bit as well by raising enemies as zombies and attacking them to raise some stats. So far, I've focused on 1-Hand attacks, Archery, Destruction. With my hoarding, I need to find a decent storage area. I pick up way too many things which I think I might use later on.

I'm in the same boat as you. I am up to lvl 12 now with my Nord, but I am very tempted to play as a more agile race to be a pure archer/ thief. Put so much time in, but all that time has given me so many ideas of how I want to play the game as something else.

I found another sawmill elsewhere besides Riverwood and the process was the same there. Who ever is operating the big saw that cuts whole trees in half should buy the wood. I haven't been to Whitefall yet so I can't say if there is a big sawmill there.

Lol looks like I'm not the only one already planning their character for the next (and the next and the next) play through....

This time I'm more of 'good' warrior type Nord (my dude looks like Ned Stark from Game of Thrones) and I'm thinking next time an evil mage would be a blast and give a nice different experience....

This game = value for money.
