Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
A year late, but finally getting around to buying and playing the game. I guess the good part is a few DLCs and a bunch of mods have been released, so a lot of fun to be had.Comment

Someone at Bethesda just asked the question, "did we even release a PS3 version?"Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Decided to see what all the hubbub was about. Have a free month of GameFly, may as well, right?
Seems to ape of the MMO style of gaming, which I am decidedly underwhelmed by. Too much micromanagement, feels like I'm playing as a floating ghost with swords and fire magic. And any game with silent protaganists make me angry. Sigh. I just couldn't get into it. I tried though. Really tried.
Plus the intro made the game look boring and pretentious. Sitting down in a cart while a bunch of meaningless names are thrown at me to make me think the game is deep. And I'm sure it is. But...just couldn't do it.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I really don't understand either. The game does not have much of any micromanaging. You apply "upgrade" points once every hour or two, then the rest of the time you are running around doing quests.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
if you do have any interest in playing Morrowind, I would play it first. It's a great game, but obviously outdated. so it may be hard to play it after skyrim or even Oblivion.
If you do get Morrowind on PC, there are several higher-res texture mods out there to at least have it updated graphically. Morrowind Overhaul 3.0 is one I've heard about, but haven't tried it out yet.

I think you can get Morrowind Game of the year edition(which includes 2 expansion packs) for $10 total on steam.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
story wise, it doesn't matter. The Elder's Scroll series don't really build on each other that much when it comes to story.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I opted for Morrowind for now, they had a copy laying around at my local gamestop for $15. I made the mistake of attacking someone in the city and dying, having to start over. haha I will check out Skyrim once the price drops, but i'm sure this will keep me occupied.Comment
