    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

This is one of the best gameplay mods out there to make the game challenging. I don't know though if it's available on consoles.

The missing NPC fix is huge for me. I was missing a few NPC's pertinent to quests. I was able to use a cheat mod to no clip to reach them, but would be a huge problem when an NPC went missing that needed to follow you or you needed to follow in a quest.

            Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have already logged 36 hours in the 10 days since release. I am seriously loving my second play through even more than my original one. It is the best game I have ever played.

The Adventures of Serratus - Wood Elf Archer/Thief has so far been an epic journey. Currently we are doing the Thieves Guild, Main Story and various side quests we pick up naturally around the land of Skyrim in our travels and adventures through the different holds. Currently level 25 with primary focus on Archery, Light Armor, Sneak and Alchemy. We also are dabbling in restoration magic and will eventually make our way to the College of Winterhold to brush up on effective spells of Restoration and Illusion to aide in our quest of being a legendary Thief and Assassin. We have been able to embark on and complete 3 Daedric quests (I love those big time). We just finished up a Burglary and Numbers Job in Solitude and have made our way back to Riften to meet with Maven Black-Briar after doing the Honningbrew Meadary job in Whiterun. Along the way to Riften I have begun a very cool adventure

Along the way to Dawnstar I ran into Cicero and helped him in his "Delayed Burial" of the Night Mother. The Dark Brotherhood has failed in 3 assassination attempts on my life thus far, little do they know that I will become the all mighty Dark Brotherhood leader sometime in the future and they will answer to me! Bwahhhahahhhahahha.

I purchased a home in Whiterun. Breezehome (a modded version which is a nice home) houses my lovely wife Camilla (the shop keeper's sister from Riverwood). She thinks I am a merchant traveler and I will keep it that way. My main home though is now just outside of Solitude. Silian Manor is a gorgeous massive home where I can store everything I find in my adventures. It is amazing and well organized (it is a fantastic mod and I highly recommend it for those that are going to play this game a few hundred hours). Here is the home description for those interested:

Silian Manor is a medium Sized player home located just outside of Solitude overlooking Katla's Farm.

Themed Storage for Vegetables, Fruits, Salt Piles, Wines, Meads, Misc. Cooking Supplies
Enchanting Table w/ Themed Storage for Scrolls, Soul Gems and a Jewelry Strongbox

Staff Enchanter w/ Themed Storage for UnEnchanted Staves, Heartstones
Alchemy Table w/ Themed Storage for Ingredients and Potions
Exterior Garden Area w/ Hearthfire Style Planting Soils (10 Plots)
Trophy Room W/ Hidden Wardrobe Entrance (Wardrobe to the right of the Master Bed next to the Safe)
Themed Storage for Dragon Priest Masks, Daedric Artifacts, Dragon Claws
Themed Storage for Notes, Journals, Spell Tomes, Unique/Rare Books (Master Bedroom)
Themed Storage for Amulets, Bug Jars
All Standing Stones and Shrines of the Divines (Shelves on Top Floor)
Indoor Smithing Area with Forge, Smelter, Sharpening Wheel, Armor Workbench, Tanning Rack
Themed Storage for Armors, Shields, Helmets, Gauntlets, Boots
Themed Storage for Maces, Battle Axes, Swords, Greatswords, Bows, Crossbows
War Axes, Daggers, Warhammers, Arrows, Bolts
Exterior Drop-off Chest (Linked to the chest above the Armor Workbench in the Smithing Area)

With this home I now have a central place for everything and it will be my ultimate bachelor pad!

Kharjo is my trusted friend and follower. I assisted him in retrieving his amulet. He was a guard for a traveling caravan of Khajitt merchants. He is a warrior build so he compliments me well and is also not annoying to speak with. I never take him into caves or dungeons. He stands guard for my latest steed after Frost was killed a few days ago while I adventure in various locations as well as allowing me to stay ranged on the roads and off the roads while we deal with anything that may come our way in our travels. My new horse is a standard one. Her name is Melky. She is brown and white with beautiful markings and I purchased her at the stables of Markarth. Frost was killed in a deadly battle with a couple of adept destruction mages she got in some cross fire and I was devastated.

Our armor is the Thieves Guild and I go between the Guilds hood and my Leather Helmet of Minor Archery (20% buff to Archery when in battle). I am collecting various armor in my travels to either sell, enchant or breakdown to learn enchantments.

I have already become a deadly archer and a excellent sneak and lock picker. My next goals are to become a deadly alchemist to create powerful poisons and potions.

I am not a very nice person. I am quick to kill and ask questions later. I am a relentless thief. Stealing and killing is my business and business is good and I look forward to it getting better once I move on to the Dark Brotherhood. At the same time I am gifted (or sometimes I think cursed) with this power of being a so called Dragonborn. I am learning shouts and becoming powerful with some of them as well. I also have some curious inclinations to dabble in Restoration and Illusion magic. I feel like if I can learn just enough I can depend less on healing potions and focus more on carrying deadly poisons (for my soon to be once I complete the Thieves Guild) Nightingale Bow of Burning!

I am so far helping the Blades and will be infiltrating the Thalmor Embassy shortly after I return to Riften to tend to my Guild's needs and fence loot and quest items. Once that is settled I can journey across the land back to Solitude and take care of this important mission.

Dragons.....oh yes I have seen many already. And I am slaying them with a mighty force. My archery has been steadily becoming all powerful, coupled with my shouts and alchemy to poison my arrow tips, I am fast becoming a legend in Skyrim.

My name is Serratus, I am a Wood Elf and member of The Thieves Guild where I will bring glory and fear back to Riften. Those who get in my way will meet their death swiftly and silently......IN THE SHADOWS!

Pics coming soon from our travels!

Forgot I said a couple days ago I'd post my mod list. I'm the worst. This is also my load order. This is Xbox One. Sorry PS4 bros.

              Unofficial Skyrim Patch
              Static Mesh Improvement Mod
              Skyrim Graphic Overhaul
Cutting Room Floor - Adds back in some stuff Bethesda cut out of the game before release.
Alternate Start: Live Another Life - Skips the tutorial at the beginning while running circles around the vanilla intro as far as building character backstory goes.
              Ars Metallica
              True Storms: Special Edition
Lanterns of Skyrim: Special Edition- A must. So minor, but so vital.
Riverwood Reborn - Makes Riverwood look drop dead gorgeous.
              Simply Adrianne
Simply Alvor - Makes both those characters essential so dragons and vampires can't kill them.
Weightless Dragon Bones - The closest I come to cheating.
              Natural Eyes
Instant Mining - Cuts out the pickaxe mining animation and just gives you the stuff. WARNING clay deposits are endless so if you mine one it gives you 4000 clay.
Project Hippie - Trees! This hits Whiterun hard. It's never looked so beautiful.
Vampires Suck - There's that no vampire attack mod.
The Forgotten City - A new story, new city, fully voiced with an original score.
Wet and Cold - Adds some weather dependent visual effects. Some character status effects during certain weather.
              Enhanced Blood Textures
              Stones of Barenziah Quest Markers
Better Horses - Makes horses faster, gives them more stamina, makes them flee combat, and makes them essential so they can't die
Better Vampires - Girlfriend plays a vampire character. This lets you modify the effects vampirism has on you.
Breezehome Crafting Basement - Adds a sick basement to the house in Whiterun full of crafting stations and a trophy room.
              Realistic Water Two

That's it. Like I said, that's also my load order and it's been 99% butter smooth for me since the game launched. Only one or two crashes.

I believe that the newest update for LOOT (load order optimization tool) is compatible with SSE on PC as well for those who are having issues with load order. I've been using a Dev version since last week and it's working great. I've been adding mods here and there, reordering them with LOOT, and haven't had an issue yet.

Anymore good updates on PS4 mods? So many keep coming out each week and I see some have new versions. I've held off installing any so far but wanted to check in and see if people have added any.

Promise I won't be asking this each week I just have some time over the holidays where I will be able to play a lot and want to mod it up.

                    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So here is my story. I bought the original Skyrim on the 360 and I played it to death for about two months and got a pretty powerful character. Then I traveled for work and was gone for 3 months. I took Skyrim with me. Somehow during the trip back I lost the game. So I really wanted to continue but didn't want to rebuy. Had been on the lookout for the game to rebuy but just never got around to it.

Fast forward to this game now, I bought it based upon memories of how great the old game was. Was really super impressed with videos of the game until I realized they were PC and the X1/PS4 didn't look quite as good. Was further unimpressed when I saw more X1/PS4 videos as we got closer to release date. Really waffled hard on whether or not to buy this now or later since so many other games have came out recently. Decided to buy it anyways and figured I'd not even crack the case on it until the Christmas holiday.

Fast forward to this past week or so and I'm addicted once again. Yes that is right, I've fallen down into the rabbit hole and realize why I loved the first game so much. Yes the graphics are a somewhat (not always) reminder I'm playing an old game that's been remastered. Yes the audio is not that impressive at all, in fact it is unremarkable.

But if there was ever a case that a game isn't about graphics and sound and about how enjoyable it is to play, and more importantly, just how much you justify "just ten more minutes until I....." then that is this game.

                    Wow!

The nice thing is there are a handful of Mods that enhance the graphics. The game looks awesome to me now. It won't change it drastically, but adding mods like textures to trees, rocks, the hippie mod that adds trees to all the different towns, it looks amazing.

Any particular ones you strongly recommend? I didn't install any mods yet because it disables achievements right? But to be honest maybe it'd be worth it to do it anyways.

I do have a weather obsession (don't ask) so I've hunted down all the best rain and snow ones and have them ready to add.

                            Wow!

Level 35 and 60 hours in since the release of the PS4 remaster.

A huge adventure log is forth coming with dozens of photos of my adventures.

                            So much to talk about.

Damn, that's dedication. If so many other great games didn't come out at the same time, I'd be further than level 20 right now...still having a blast.

It's one of those games that when I sit down, I say "ok just one quest" and it ends up being 5...because on my way across from Riften to say Solitude to do a job for Vex in the Thieves Guild.....I discover 2 dungeons, a cave and a fort and must clear them all and hunt for loot. Or I hit some other quests in my log in my travels across Skyrim.

It's just an amazing game. My GOAT of non sports games.
