The second act is so much harder than the first act. I'm almost done with the second act now I believe and the amount of times Ive died is starting to rival demons souls.

But death isn't very punishingat all in this game so I've been able to manage.

I keep playing this game, but it's to the point where I don't know why. It's just soooo buggy and really not that good but I continue to trek through even though I know I should be playing Deus Ex.

I am trying really, really, REALLY hard to get into this and I just can't. Maybe I need to get to the point of getting guns, or something.

I'm still playing Deus Ex and it really is addicting. Hopefull Dead Island isn't too buggy to not to keep me playing. We'll see...

I've only seen a few bugs in my playthrough thus far. It's been pretty fun up until the point where I am at now. Haven't even played co-op since I have not seen anyone on my FL that has this.

But, I've now reached probably the most difficult quest I have ever played in any game. I/my NPC companion died over 100 times (no joke) in one area. I finally got past the area only to be bombarded with infected while all of my weapons are shot, and I have no way to get back to the chick that you can stash stuff with.

I seriously have nothing but my fists, and all the enemies are level 30 now, so it really sucks. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to enlist the help of some randoms to get me through the rest of this quest since none of my friends have this.

Ok Chases comments (Damn you Chase) have me scared. I'm going to play Deus Ex the rest of the night to think this over before opening Dead Island...

I think the game gets worse as guns become more prominent because the gun play just isn't all that good. Not that melee combat is incredibly strong, but at least there are more tactics at work during those moments.

I'll be sending this back to Gamefly soon, just not what I expected at all. It's one thing if I'm buying weapons from a weapon shop. Kind of goofy I have to pay for pipes, paddles, etc. that are just laying around on the ground or up against walls. Glad I didn't buy this as I was originally planning to.

Hey, don't be scared off by me. A lot of people like this game, it's just that I don't think the mechanics are strong enough to make up for the bugs. I do like that the game avoids being shoehorned into a a specific genre -- it's not quite Borderlands or Diablo or Oblivion -- but the issue is I don't think it really does anything well enough to make good on walking that line between being a pseudo-action RPG mixed with a grind it out/loot RPG mixed with a story-based RPG.

But, again, I just keep playing it. Plus, playing with others makes everything more fun that it probably is on its own.

lol Tell me about it. I knew the game was a game that tried many things and didn't really do any of them perfectly BUT everyone seemed to be loving it.
