    re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Loving the game so far..love how hard it is too on classic. I've gotten almost everyone killed, may have to consider lowering the diff.

only thing I'm not loving is that I thought I would manually collect stuff on the battle field, things like parts/corpses etc... This is all automatic, so I realized exploration is useless and its 100% about killing. Another thing is I wanted to edit soldier's country of origin, instead I'm waiting for certain places and editing their name to sort of suit it.

I said Ben Richards would survive, but he got waxed in the 3rd mission - game is unforgiving!!!

I would be all over that if I had it for 360. Also if I had the game.

              re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

I sent an elite squad out on a mission marked "Very Difficult", took out some Thin Men with no problem. Go to clear an adjacent building that turned out to have two Mutons in them, throw my heavy, a support specialist, and an overwatch sniper to deal with that threat while my other three squad members go to clear the north building.

When out of nowhere two more Thin Men and three Floaters appear on my far right flank, and I'm practically surrounded by aliens. Luckily I got out of there with only losing two guys, but that could have been a lot worse.

                  re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

I am absolutely getting massacred on Classic difficulty and ironman mode. This game does not joke around. I received an A on my first council review and a C on the 2nd and so not terrible, should be hanging in there. However, I have already had one country lose faith in me and I have about 5 to 6 other countries that on the verge of dumping me!

Meanwhile, the highest rank that I have got my soldiers to is Corporal. Right now I have 6 soldiers, all of them rookies. On top of that, the next abduction mission popped up and all of them are marked as very difficult....yeah.

I can't stop playing this game though.

                    re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

In honor of a satisfyingly well-orchestrated victory on my part (UFO crash) that saw me make up some ground rank-wise for my struggling and inexperienced soldier pool, my "A" team is now officially the actual A Team (since my first thoughts after winning were "I love it when a plan comes together!"). Hannibal is my Lt. and Assault specialist with B.A as a Heavy, Face as support, and Murdock as a sniper (Face is a Sgt with the other two being squaddies).

I also finally upgraded my armor, so hopefully that will keep me safer once I can get guys equipped (I could only barely afford to equip Hannibal for now). I'm still dangerously close to everything falling apart overall, but it felt good to get a solid W for a change...lol.

Woke up this morning with a PS3 controller in my hand laying in my easy chair.

This game owns me. I am playing on Normal on my first play through. Now even though I am not playing on Iron Man (which I did not know can not be turned on later only difficulty) I am not reloading anything. So in essence if I lose guys/gals I lose them.

I love doing the customization, and giving them unique names. You truly get attached to squad members.

                        This game is amazing!!!

Had no clue on this game.

                            Read this thread, became interested.

Tried the demo, thought it was boring.

Read thread again, wondered what I missed.

                            Read reviews, became interested again.

Tried the demo again, realized I tried it in the wrong frame of mind, loved it.

Picked it up last night. Got the DLC pack Elite Soliders in the box too.

Won't open it to really play until Extra-Life next week where I may end up playing most of my session. LOL

                            Kind of excited.

But in the end..damn this thread!!

Yes, I realise this. BUT, the mad incentive is to get my cat through the whole game. This is the stuff of big dreams my man. I pledge to lead my cat through this alien hell and on to safety beyond

I really don't want to lose her virtual humanoid form. This game is serious fun.
