I have to check the control schemes and see if I can put it somewhere else. You can also spot people by just tapping up on the DPad without holding it down. Worst thing is that Maximum Armor is useless against cloaked enemies since once your shot your armor boost gets zapped immediately.

Cloaking Positives: Get a ridiculous Damage boost (Pair that up with the SMG and you wont be killed 90% of the time), Hard to see and almost completely invisible when your not moving.
Clocking Negative: When you do see them they are easy to kill.

Same problem I had with the first game. Always people cloaked because thats the dominant power. Whats worse is that I dont seem to see a "Perk" that allows you to counter it. Hunter should but for some stupid reason its only "uncloaked" enemies you see footsteps of. It should be the longer your in cloak the easier it is to see you. Like the lower the power left, that would balance it a bunch since then you have to be more tactical with when you use it.

Maybe its my TV and me needing to mess with some of my settings but I cant see cloaking enemies as easily as everyone else can. Only way I have been able to counter it is by cloaking all the time myself which sucks since I like the Armor ability and Vision more.
Just curious, what size TV are playing on? I mean in my experience the red outline is definatly visible most of time, but it very well may depend on people's individual setups.

Honestly to me I think the auto armor ability is much more annoying than being killed by somebody cloaked. I just don't see how the game is unbalanced toward cloak when one of the default abilities gives people auto armor when they are shot, including by people in cloak. Like you said you take alot more damage if your shot while cloaked, so to me that is pretty big downside.

I think 40-42 inch. Maybe 38. Can't remember, lol. The auto armor is cancelled out by the cloaking btw. When a cloaked enemy shoots someone it automatically reduces you energy to 0 so auto armor is useless.

To counter cloak use the nanovision ability. It's pretty much like infrared.

Watched this vid where the guy pointed out that if you stay still while cloaked the energy bar doesn't deplete unless moving. Don't like the idea of this should deplete regardless if your still or moving. He also points out 1 energy bar should be used instead of 2 for both cloaking & armor mode. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6bu8Cl7SORo?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

In the beta I am playing cloaking uses energy even when staying still. It is a slow drain, but it definatly uses a small amount of energy every couple of seconds.

As far as the whole two bar thing I really could either way. On one hand it does kind of eliminate the need to manage your suit power, but on the other hand it creates a faster pace which I like and I am pretty sure that was their intent. There is still only one bar in SP, in all the single player videos there has only been bar. So clearly they liked the pace and style that two bars creates in MP.

Yeah when I played I noticed it slow drained as well so I'm fine with that. The 2 bar doesn't bother me for mp as well I can deal with that. I have been enjoying the PS3 beta even though it has a tendency to freeze from time to time.

Sorry if this is somewhat of a tangent.... but what is the difference within the game itself between the Nano version of Crysis 2 and the regular packaged one?

Add: nm, I picked this up used at GS last night for about $15.... so we'll see.

Demo seems okay. Sort of like a cross between Halo and CoD, with a slight CoD bias. I'm just kind of all FPS'd out at this point, though...sat out both titles this year and haven't really noticed/missed them, so I probably won't bother with the release of this one unless I hear it's mind-blowingly good...

This game looks F'n sick! Can't wait for this baby to release.
Was the game built for the PC or consoles, because I want to know if the graphics will look like this (or close to this) on the Xbox360.

The game was made for the pc and then they downgrade it to run on the consoles. I've been playing the PS3 beta and it looks nowhere as great as the pc graphics which is understandable. I am still getting the PS3 version but I know it will not look like what they show on the pc. I am not a pc gamer so I always stick with consoles regardless of looks.

Dang, I am planning on getting into PC gaming in 2014, I may just wait till then to buy this game on PC with the new powerful graphics cards that will be out then.

IGN: Impressions after playing the first four missions in Crytek’s upcoming shooter

If you’re spotted while shooting arrows and silenced weapons from afar, enemies will start to search around for you. The artificial intelligence also seemed better than in Crysis 2. Though enemies did occasionally take cover in odd locations as I cloaked around them, they at least never bunched up into jittering clumps of confusion as groups of enemies tended to do in Crysis 2 when it first launched.
Depending on how you want to play, you can also modify your suit to emphasize particular aspects. You’ll find upgrade packs around Crysis 3’s levels that allow you to boost the suit’s statistics and learn new abilities, such as an air stomp. Though there are a number of different abilities, only four can be active at a time, so you need to decide which suit powers best complement how you want to attack in a given combat zone.
It seems you’ll have plenty of opportunities to use the abilities as well. Though Crysis has never been an open world shooter like Ubisoft’s Far Cry 2 and 3, it doesn’t confine you to a rigid straightforward path like Call of Duty or Medal of Honor. It’s a blend, more akin to Halo, where there’s a definite exit and entrance to each battle area, but inside there’s room to move around and attack enemies from multiple angles. The combat zones of the first Crysis were vast enough to get lost in. For the second game in the series Crytek shrank down the explorable area so there wasn’t nearly as much room to explore and experiment. The same feeling of relative confinement isn’t as present in Crysis 3, where the size of the zones and number of enemies you encounter at a time are much larger. Environments still aren’t as big as the first Crysis, but seem large enough to allow for a fleeting sense of freedom and opportunity to make meaningful use of the suit’s powers.
In many ways, it seems to shed some of Crysis 2’s weaknesses in favor of looking to the original Crysis for inspiration. If that holds true for the whole way through and Crysis 3 can stir up the same sense of awe-inspiriting spectacle that so strongly defined the first game, Crysis 3 may be yet another excellent though familiar shooter from Crytek.

Preordered official switched from Aliens to this. AI still seems a little sketchy, but the guy did say it wasn't on Supersoldier or whatever the highest difficulty in Crysis 3 is. Already like the MP from the beta, so I should get quite a bit out of this game.

That is not entirely correct. They built the console and pc versions seperately, they didn't simply port one over to the other. I mean obviously the console version won't look nearly as good, but it's not because they ported the pc version and simply downgraded it.

Also I wouldn't neccassarily assume the MP will look the same as SP. It is pretty common for MP in games to not look as good as the SP. I would still expect the SP to look at least as good as Crysis 2. The console version should still be impressive, just not jawdropping like the PC version.

Digital Foundry - Demo showdown: Crysis 3 multiplayer beta

The single-player component of Crysis 3 will almost certainly push the graphical envelope further than its online counterpart, but regardless, the recently released multiplayer beta allows us to get some idea of how CryEngine 3 has evolved over the last couple of years, plus we get an early preview of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 image quality and performance.
Compared to the stock release of Crysis 2, it's clear that there have been no compromises where this sequel is concerned, to the point where even running in low settings on PC yields a vastly superior visual experience to either console.
The main point of difference between the console versions revolves around streaming and rendering resolution. In terms of the former, the PS3 has an obvious advantage (particularly at the beginning of each round and after respawns) in terms of more quickly streaming artwork, though during gameplay the two are more evenly matched. For its part, the 360 features improved texture filtering and slightly longer draw distances in general - particularly where shadow rendering is concerned.

Resolution remains identical to that of Crysis 2 (1152x720 on 360 and 1024x720 on the PS3) but the use of the firm's 'post AA' has been jettisoned in favour of what we believe to be shader model anti-aliasing (SMAA) which uses a different kind of temporal filter that features less double image 'ghosting' artifacts on fast-moving scenes and objects. Some texture blurring is apparent on both consoles, as are shimmering jaggies on more finely detailed parts of the environment, but the 360 game regularly comes across as the sharper of the two.
Thankfully, the overall downgrade in fluidity here is less severe than the sub-20FPS drops during Crysis 2's campaign mode, although the dips in performance can be a little off-putting. Frame-rates are generally lower during matches situated on the museum stage, where the inclusion of water effects, environment reflections and foliage cause more of a performance hit. This is a much more significant issue on the PS3 in both maps, where the level of fluidity tends to drop even lower when the engine is heavily stressed. Both versions have their own performance issues, although we see the 360 gaining a small advantage with slightly higher frame-rates on average overall.
