Excuse the noob question, I have never played a Dragon Age game but is there any comparison to skyrim?

Combat in Dragon Age: Origins was pretty good, but that's a completely different type of combat, more reminiscent to KOTOR and Baldur's Gate.
I thought with Inquisition they went back to closer to how combat was in origins. Consoles all get to also get the overhead tactical view I think that was only on PC's back then.

For me it is fairly different. You spend a lot of time fighting in parties. Different characters have different classes. It's more tactical for sure. You have mission to fulfill like Skyrim though.

Honestly it is more comparable to Mass Effect imo.

Any way to upload your prior choices made while playing DAO and DA2 in the Keep? Not seeing the option anywhere.

It's more of a mix between Origins and DA2. It remains to be seen how useful the tac cam is going to be or if it was just thrown in for people upset with the changes from Origins. Also they have completely removed healing spells which makes zero sense sine it ls been well established in the lore that's it's the most used form of magic. One last big change is your limited to 8 abilities on your toolbar even on PC. Bioware claims it was for tactical reasons but I have my doubts. Still really excited for this game and can't wait to play just don't go in expecting a new Origins because that's never gonna happen with this Bioware.

That's what they've said, but all the gameplay videos I've seen makes it look like Dragon Age II's fast paced, action combat to me. It's why I'm still holding off until I hear impressions since they haven't shown much footage of the tactical view since most of the promo material is in the action view.

Here a video (Even though the guy prefers the fast paced combat) that shows the tactical aspect also.

Just went through The Keep and created my First(and only for me) World State. You forget how many choice you make over two games, an Expansion Pack and several story DLCs. I remembered about 80% of my choices, for the rest I just Googled the situations and made the choice. It is easy for me to pick because I always play a Paragon of Virtue type.

Same. I remember some of the important stuff but not everything.

A dragon age hd remake would of been perfect before this game.

That stinks. I was under the impression you could load a prior game save in the Keep and review your decisions before setting them in place.

Yes, in fact you have to if you want to ensure that the decisions that you made go into DAI, otherwise the Default world state will definitely have a lot of choices that are different than what you did. It's also cool if you made a certain choice when you first played one of the games, but now wish that you had made a different one, you can change it.

The Keep will search for your characters on your hard drive and load them into the Keep, which will cause a few of you decisions to be uploaded, but for most of the choices you will have to review them to be sure they are what you want them to be.

There are a lot of choices, probably over 150 at least, but the good thing about it is that if you haven't played any of the games in a while, it will refresh your memory about the narrative of the series.
