Re: The Witcher 3
Thank you. So what is the best way to level up your character? Just roam around and loot things?
I have gotten to the point where the main quest is telling me to look for the little girl (forget her name) and I have three different areas to explore. It really does not give any guidance or direction. Am I just supposed to roam around and discover things on my own?
There are multiple quests/side quests but all of them are at higher levels than me (I'm a 3). Most of them being significantly higher levels (closest to me is a 5).
Lastly, I really have a hard time with combat. It is difficult for me to even kill a pack of dogs without dying. I'm sure as you level up your character becomes much more proficient, but any combat advice? I read in the earlier part of this thread it's better NOT to lock on to targets.. What is the best form of defense when multiple creatures are attacking? (Parry, roll, sidestep)
So many questions! Lol Thanks in advance for any help!Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
The main quest gives the most experience, but even clearing ? points gives some, too.
With that said, if you're 5 levels above/below the Quest Level then your experience earned diminishes greatly.

I had a hard time at the start as well. You need to hit all the ? In the white March area and try to get to level 5 than you can move on from white marsh and should be ok.

White Orchard*
Knew what you meant but didn't want him to get confused, spot on with what you said though.
Literally just do everything there is to do, explore any and everything in the starter area.

Re: The Witcher 3
Thanks guys! I guess I will go back to White Orchard and roam around. I am currently in Verna looking for Siri. Maybe I moved too quickly....
I am really bad at combat as well. It may be because I have weak weapons and armor, but I have a hard time even killing a pack of wild dogs.
I'll go back to White Orchard and try to build up my abilities and armor/weaponry there.Last edited by ch46647; 08-31-2016, 09:58 AM.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Its easy to get lost in the beginning in wild orchart. Do as many ? on the map as you can and you'll be up to level 5-8 soon. You level up fast in quest and side missions btw.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Find as many places of power as you can as soon as you can. Some are guarded by high level enemies, but most should be open from the beginning. Each one will give you an ability point.

Yes they are all listed as ?'s, however not every ? is a place of power.

Re: The Witcher 3
Picked it up today! Time to get my Witcher on! Sad that they didnt pack, at least, the map poster that the original had but it was 49.99 (39.99 with GCU) so I can't complain.Last edited by myghty; 09-01-2016, 01:11 AM."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Re: The Witcher 3
Now that I am getting a hang of this game, it's incredibe. The story, graphics, gameplay, and attention to detail are phenomenal. I haven't played many RPG games but the leveling up of armor/abilities/weaponry is very addicting.
So question for you vets.. I'm just running around White Orchard unlocking "?" and completing a few side quests. I have started using my level-up points on combat, specifically "quick attack" and "improved adrenaline" (I enjoy the sword fighting). With that said, I'm only a level 3 and only have two ability slots unlocked... I would like to start leveling up one or two of my special abilities as well, any suggestions on which ones I should focus on?
Lastly, I am really enjoying looting and finding new armor (haven't even started doing alchemy or crafting yet). I notice some of the weapons and armor I find have a blue haze around them and say "master item". Is the only added benefit of using a master item that it has a slot to insert a rune and increase effectiveness a bit?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, guys!!Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I'm still very early, only level 5, but I spend a lot of time looting and picking up flowers. I find myself very cash strapped and constantly in need of food and things that improve vitality..
Do you guys sell things that are in your crafting purse? I sell a lot of old weapons and armor that I pick up and find a long the way.. Curious if I should sell some of my high value crafting inventory as well? (Some of it is worth a lot of coins)Comment
