Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Anyone complete the single player community challenge that was going on the last few days?
I completed it and got the message saying congrats and the explorer outfit has been unlocked only it's still listed as unavailable in Kenway's cabin.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I picked this up over the weekend and got couch sores just about. Ive liked any of these games ive played and this one blew me away so far. My only complaint is I dont know what to do next! I feel like I need to keep doing story missions to unlock things (ive heard of a dart blowgun but dont have it yet for example) and I wonder if unlocking everything for edward first makes things like assassination missions easier/more flexible?
I dabbled into the multiplayer and had fun but a lot of it seems to assume you know all the ins and outs already. One specific question I had was in manhunt 4v4 your radar shows the usual pie slice showing your enemy but also has other little indicators outside the ring. Are you supposed to kill the one you have the pie slice for or is it ok to kill anyone on the other team? I also had red triangles pop up around the radar and im not entirely sure what those mean. Anyone know a good in depth guide to mp even if its for a past game in the series? Ive read articles on top tier tactics but those tend to focus on the meta game. I want to make sure I know all the basics. Even the wolf pack missions left gaps I thought.

AC3 had some very good multiplayer tutorials that discussed and pointed out things that only elite players really knew about, like whispers. I haven't played MP on AC4 yet but I'm surprised there aren't any tutorials explaining the compass and radar.
Maybe see if you can find tutorial vids on YouTube?Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I haven't played this one yet (It's on my list of games to get) but I'm pretty sure you don't have to play the previous ones, but it would help if you do so.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

The story isn't really directly related to the previous games so you would be ok I think.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
The game is nice, and looks good and everything else. But at its core it's still AC. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. However as many times as ive tried I just lose interest, and ive played at least a little bit of every iteration, some more than others.
I'm not knocking the game or the people who enjoy it. Just a lot of the same over and over. And I've only played the first 4 or so missions.
That said I'll likely give it another go on ps4 just to have a story to play at launch. A good story can carry even the most monotonous games.

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I owned Part 2 and LOVED IT.
I skipped part 3. But hearing the good things about Black Flag, I may have to pick this up.
I want to get a holiday game to have some fun with while on vacation.
I'm leaning towards this or XCOM: Enemy Unknown.Comment

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 update will upgrade resolution from 900p to 1080p
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's PS4 version may currently only run at 900p resolution, but an update will be out "shortly after release" sprucing it up to a nice and shiny 1080p.Another benefit of the update is that it will implement new anti-aliasing technology, something Trottier suggested is actually more significant than the higher resolution.Thankfully, this new anti-aliasing feature won't just be for PS4, but Xbox One as well.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I feel ya man. Since a lot of people really like the game, the fact that you don't share the same thoughts is preposterous. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with the game, only problems are with your objective views of it. If everyone else likes it you must also. Or else! Please catch my sarcasm....I agree with you.
