I like clearing the islands of collectables. Next I do the story missions on that island.

Next you can do the Templar missions if you're that far in the story. It eventually unlocks an armor.

You can do harpooning but I would wait till you have the cash to upgrade all your harpoon equipment and it becomes a lot quicker. Also about half way through the story I finally saw killer whales, great whites, etc. not sure if it's because of completion percentage or just the fact I hadn't been to a certain part of the map.

That should help not go so quick. Also island hunting to craft. You also open a lot more places when you get the diving bell. The areas aren't big but they add a new experience and IMO are fun "mini games".

Also doing the Mayan hunts. Lol, sorry. So much stuff to do, bro.

I discovered on the companion app that you can send your ships on trading routes. That can get you money and other stuff without having to do it in game and keep remembering to send the ships back out.

What's the app called. I'm using iPhone 5s and can't find it.

I think i've done that once in game, and I think at a certain point you can also choose to send the ships you capture as one of your own fleet as well.

            Whats the companion app?

Having the game cut to islands definitely helps the pacing issues the past couple of games have had, so far anyway (I'm not too far in).

Way I usually play is go for side stuff until you get a little weary of it, then play a story mission.

It comes in handy to do the fast travels for sure.. im only doing that now traveling between islands since its like a billion of them, plus you have to navigate past a ton of enemy ships between them. I cant wait to get upgraded enough to blow that Brig with the red sails away.

Everytime I attack a ship now I need to take out like 3 others who always come to help so I just leave it alone now, sheesh

I upgraded my ship a bit. I first hit the small ships w/ mortars and then go after the big one. My mortars destroy the schooners on one hit.

Schooners arent the problem, its the rest of them now. I can't even go head up with any of the others without the bigger ships coming over to help

When making a turn in the ship drop all sales while holding a direction it cuts turn speed in half to hit me with broadside cannons.

When I mean head up I mean man to man because other ships come over to help. Its not one on one .. my wanted level goes up immediately. Its the same thing as being spotted in a restricted zone and immediately all the enemy characters rush over to fight

Ha, I'm pretty selective with what I attack. I scope the area first. Even out in no mans land if there's a fleet of same country ships within say 500 meters, I won't attack a brig. They ring the bell and jet right for them. The turning isn't really for one on one but will help you for multiple ship battles also.

Going to get some more time in tonight finally. Praying foot another stealth mission

Another thing I like is how they're collecting data asking what missions we like
