i want to get this, but for next gen. i don't know when i'll be getting next gen though, i'll probably look at some gameplay videos of next gen and current gen because i've heard there are almost no glitches and with new hardware, that isn't guaranteed on next gen, but considering i might not get next gen for a good amount of time, patches should fix everything. Really, the only reason i'll buy it for current gen is for the sales on black friday, if it goes down to something like 30 dollars, i'll definitely get it.
i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag

This game is such a time-warp. Good luck getting to the next waypoint in the story mode. Between chasing higher-leveled ships for your fleet, sending your fleet out on trade routes, assassination missions that take you to other islands, exploring new jungle islands while being stalked by jaguars, spearing sharks, treasure hunting, animal hunting, and so on, I don't know how they expect us to actually finish the game. I got about 3 story missions done last night, and before I knew it, it was 1 AM.

I nearly died last night. I was attacking a ship during a storm and before I knew it I was surrounded by 8 ships. I said **** this and went full sail and hauled *** up out of there.

Shoot I constantly die playing this game. Tried to get to Misteriosa and got blasted by a man-O-war. Went diving for treasure got ripped to shreds by a shark, then a killer whale owned me while I tried to hunt it.

They didn't **** around this time regarding difficulty and what it takes to fully sync a sequence.

[Spolier] Had to tail some guys, eavesdrop, pickpocket the captains key to a store room, and then infiltrate a big *** fort without entering open combat. Really? I'm sneaking around in huge forts already with sharp shooters on the roof? [/spoiler]

Plus there are only 2 optional objectives for every mission versus 3-4 per mission last time. Totally made finishing AC III a pain in the butt. The optional objectives this time feel so much more organic and part of the strategy of finishing the mission versus just tedious and random tasks

Like I said, I missed AC II-III, so I don't know if this is how missions have been in those games. But I love the missions I've done so far. Some of them have the feel that I got from Deus Ex and The Last of Us where you have to think out your next move or 5 guys are immediately on top of you. There are also different routes and strategies to use to get to the same end. I really enjoy when games are like that.

So true. The other objective on that mish is to use dancers to distract guards. I used them and it helped instead of being a hindrance and just fluff on top of what I was actually trying to accomplish.

I just couldn't wait another two weeks for the PS4, and picked up the PS3 version from Amazon. I open the case, and there's a voucher for a $10 download of AC4 for PS4.

                          This is good?

I prefer linear games over open world. But I am so tempted to give AC4 a try. I haven't ever played the others in the series.

The game is great but if you don't like open world then I'd probably stay away.

I literally have done nothing but screw around (mostly treasure hunt, and whale) since I "acquired" the Jackdaw. Glad my impatience for the next gen version appears to be paying off.

As a long time fan of the brand... this game, is well... it's different, although the central conflicts still remains, it brings back a lot of aspects of the Ezio Trilogy that were conspicuously absent from III.

Very pleased after a few hours roaming Havana and the adjecent waters.

One more thing, I have yet to encounter any glitchy cut scene animations, or the constant audio hiccups and variances that plagued III.

I quite enjoy the singing your crew does while you are cruising around in your ship. I also like the fact the weather varies too while you are out on the ocean.
