Nice find Flawless. I am getting more and more fired up for this. Plus with Watch Dogs being delayed, I can give this title the proper attention its gonna need.

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Was going to try to hold off until a price drop on this one, but the more I see, the harder that is going to be.
I won't be going next gen until at least late next year, so PS3 for me.Comment

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
AC: Liberation HD (formerly a VITA exclusive) will be available for download on PSN January 14th, for PC on the 15th, and XBLA "early next year."
Well, this makes me VERY happy.

Eurogamer - 9
If successive Assassin's Creed games have worn you down with the same ageing systems - free-running that seems to snag on every root and spur, simplistic combat built around monotonous counter-attacks and too many missions that only focus on these mechanics, usually after tailing someone while eavesdropping on their conversation - then you should know that these things are still prominent components of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
You should also know, however, that while they may bog you down occasionally, they are pushed comprehensively into the background by the many other things that you spend your time doing in this open-world sequel - the sixth major instalment in this vast, annualised series of adventures about the age-old war between noble Assassins and dickhead Templars. The result is a surprising breath of fresh sea air.
Black Flag learns from AC 3’s initial 10 hours of banal hand-holding by immediately throwing you into the action. After a lean and exhilarating opening mission that places you in the blood-soaked boots of Connor’s much livelier and more likeable grandfather Edward Kenway, the world blossoms and allows you to explore its vast uncharted waters. The size of the world is staggering, and the fact that it's absolutely brimming with fun and rewarding activities made me want to get lost as possible as I traveled from point A to point B.
When you ignore the main mission prompt and simply set out in search of your own fun, Black Flag is at its best. It treats you like an adult, and allows you to explore its gorgeous and activity-filled world to your heart’s content.
The Good- A gorgeous, vibrant world full of reasons to go exploring
- Outstanding naval combat
- Progression systems are profoundly rewarding
- Terrific story that paints pirates in a human light
- Seafaring and on-foot exploration complement each other wonderfully
The Bad- No substantial additions to multiplayer
- A few too many eavesdropping missions
The designer's grip has been relaxed, and how you go about assassinating important figures, toppling coastal fortresses or lifting the goods from plantation warehouses feels less guided. There's no policing one way or the other – you can klutz your way through it if you don't care to role-play – but at least you have something that resembles agency.
Black Flag is the most mechanically assured, sturdily designed game in the series. Everything works in concert much more harmoniously than it has in past games, particularly the rough-around-the-edges-and-middle Assassin's Creed III. Inventory management, aiming, sneaking and sword-fighting all feel more of a piece than they yet have. And two of the series' primary gameplay tentpoles—rooftop parkour and stealth—work far better here than they have in the past, largely because of more considered, well-executed level design.

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I wouldn't expect anything less. Personally each period this series has been based in has been wonderful for me. I know AC3 gets a lot of flak, but I still love that game and traversing through the trees.
