Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I was hoping an incursion would be something that leveraged the extraction mechanic in the dark zone, pings the map with it's location and anyone can come and try and put down an enemy incursion of some sort.
Basically a large scale multiplayer event in the open world, with rewards distributed based on your participation (or currency to spend at a vendor, etc).Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Plus, my wife started to hate seeing my large cache of XB1/Ps4 game boxes around. Now I can tell her, "No honey, don't worry, I only own like 3 games, see only 3 game boxes."
LOL not...I have over 60 games but you can't see them cause they are stored on my 2TB HDD. haha
But yeah, my game count doesn't really ever increase digitally in her eyes because to her it's all just a bunch of icons she has no idea what they do or cost. And if I'm ever asked I can say something about the free games for March or whatnot, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

3 days from now I'll be waking up happy knowing that when that night time comes it will be time to take back the streets.

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I played the closed beta and I enjoyed everything that I was able to do. The Division is in one of my favorite genre's. To me, it's a third person cover based shooter with a heavy emphasis on RPG elements. I love all the upgrading, crafting, resource gathering, etc. and as someone who loves Ubisoft and their open world formula, I would have no problem buying the season pass but not when it's going to be 75% geared towards multi-player and costs $40.
In a generation of gaming where publishers want you to spend more and get less, im doing the opposite and want to pay less yet get more. Physical allows me to do just that. Digital, hell no. Digital is the future and I'll say it again...all digital will lead to another crash and here's why - perfect example - The Evil Within is $60 to buy digital yet it's $20 brand new at Best Buy/GameStop/etc.
Does anyone really believe that money hungry stock holding investors are going to allow publishers to lower the cost of digital games at launch or at any point down the line if it's the only way you can play the game? Easy answer is hell no because they don't do it now with competition in discs so imagine when that competition no longer exists.
With all of that said, for $38 via GCU, im hoping to get at least 80-100 hours out of the base game and if I do, it's easily worth the purchase and playing as a lone wolf. Besides, the hard difficulty option for all the missions will definitely keep me busy as a lone wolf.
If by the time im done and decide that The Underground (which looks to be the only non multi-player DLC) is worth the price, then maybe, I'll buy the season pass. Besides the obvious heavy focus on multi-player and the dark zone, my main concern is that excluding the expansion pass for The Witcher III and Dying Light, none of the season passes this generation has been worth the price and based on what I have read from others, this includes Destiny. Besides, in a year from now or less, there will most likely be a "complete year one" edition anyway for $60.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Definitely looking forward to playing this next week but im holding off on the season pass as it seems to be heavily focused on PvP which I honestly have no interest in. Instead of a Destiny type game, I was really hoping The Division to be a single player game where they add DLC every month of other states and eventually, other countries to see how the pandemic is being handled elsewhere since I seriously doubt that it would be somehow contained to just NY.I played the closed beta and I enjoyed everything that I was able to do. If by the time im done and decide that The Underground (which looks to be the only non multi-player DLC)
- April: Free Incursion Update - In game activity that puts you and your squad against a unstoppable force. Rewards you with powerful new weapons and equipment. Single player/Coop DLC
- May: Free Conflict Update - Change the way you play in the dark zone and add a new Incursion. Adds another incursion so another single player/coop dlc
- June: Expansion 1 'Underground" - Descend into the sewers to save what remains. Deadly enemies are regrouping, how deep can your team go? Another single player/coop DLC from paid DLC
- Summer: Expansion 2 "Survival' - Will you find enough essential supplies throughout New York to survive and secure High Tech equipment or succumb to the temptation of going Rogue? Multiplayer DLC, literally only multiplayer focused DLC out of them all
- Winter: Expansion 3 'Last Stand' - You and your squad must defend against a new foe. Recruit other agents and build defenses to help you hold the line. Hoard Mode DLC which if its like any other hoard mode can be played Solo or Coop
So that makes 4 of the 5 DLC's releasing (Free or paid) have some form of single player element to them.
So anyway

I keep seeing this and I am begging to think nobody is reading into the content that is releasing as DLC.

May - Dark Zone which again is meant to be for your squad and multi-player. Add in the $50 required for PS+ and you're talking an additional $90 (season pass and PS+) on top of the $60 for the game itself so a total of $150. Hell no.
June - Underground is the only one that truly sounds like it can be played solo with no PS+ and no squads.
Survival is obviously 100% multi-player based.
Last Stand sounds like you're stuck in one small area with your squad protecting whatever it is you may be guarding. At least, that's how it sounds to me.
Like I said, im taking a wait and see approach because im not expecting anything great and if history this gen (and last gen) is any indication, chances are it won't be. But again, im taking a wait and see approach. When others play it solo and post their impressions, then I'll decide.Comment
