There is a certain area in the Tech wing that needs to be opened up to have this ability. Pretty sure it's called Recalibration Station and it shows up upstairs in the BoO.

Scott, the re-cal station is a must for making sure every piece of gear you have equipped benefits your loadout.

So say you're running pulse and sticky bomb. You want all your gear to have bonuses to those. If you pick up say, a nice chest that you wanna wear but it unfortunately gives bonuses to support station and shield or whatever. For cash you can choose to recalibrate or "reroll" that chest piece to have bonuses more suited to your setup.

Also in regards to today's down time, people are saying that marksman rifles may have been ninja nerfed but it's not verified as of yet.

I'm gonna be PISSED if they nerfed marksman rifles! I love my marksman rifles, I need my marksman rifles.

Some guy on reddit was rolling with +200 scavenging and the rate of high end drops were exactly the same as the rest of the guys he was playing with (who had zero). He suspects it doesn't work in the DZ at the moment. I will try to find the thread.

What your scavenging at, and are you mainly in DZ05-06? Was in DZ03-04 for 3-4 hours and only seen 2 piece of high end gear drop. My scavenging is +111%.

My scavenging is at 162 percent, I don't think it effects dark zone either, my team and I seem to get very similar drops no matter what. In main area high end content thought its a different story, all I'll probably be farming challenge missions more often than I play in the dz

The dual overlapping support heal stations was a nice find too, seems like health regen was happening faster in the area that overlaps. Did you see that as well Jare?

Yeah the heal effect stacked for sure. With the skill recovery bonus we can have those running non stop. Pretty awesome.

Just hit level 19, have a purple ACR waiting in my inventory for me at level 20. Almost have my DPS up at over 10k with my current assault rifle so I'm excited as this one will jump me up past that and will be my first purple.

I unlocked the Recalibration station earlier and never used it. May need to finally look into it.

I'm like you, but playing with a bunch of number crunching nerds (no offense guys lol) has changed me.

Sometimes I feel like I'm at the Algebra Olympics in chat.

The recal station is amazing and has bankrupt me numerous times lol. Mandatory to maximize your build

Hard for me to give general advice for the whole game experience....

I would say always take advantage of cover, try to find vantage points against your enemies, find which skills synergize best with you style of play, and use your consumables, like water/soda/explosive bullets etc.

Kudos to everyone in this thread. I'm level 17 and just now realizing how little I know about leveling up and maximizing my experience in this game.

This is the part I don't even remotely understand. Rolling?

It has been stated, but I used "rolled" because when crafting there is a spectrum of damage that you can get in the case of the ACR. The first one that I got wasn't very good. Second was much better.

Also, find a good a balance between selling junk and breaking it down for parts so you end up with a lot of money and crafting materials

Sort of.

To be honest, the kid is really wearing thin on me the last couple days. I definitely feel you on the neverending pancake thing. I was teamed up with him trying to get me up to level 30 on Sunday and he would keep saying Pancake. "Pancake". Yeah? Five seconds later "Pancakes". What? A couple more seconds " Pancake". WHAT!? It was like that constantly. The damn kid wouldn't say or ask what he wanted to say or ask until he had said "Pancakes" four or five times, despite my answering him every damn time.

LOL, I found him mildly annoying when we played but I figured maybe he was your nephew or something so I didn't say anything. I told my wife the word "pancake" sounded weird to me now because I'd never heard anyone say it about 100 times in an evening.

My favorite part:

Pancake..whatcha doing?

uhhh..fighting for my life over here is what...what you need?

pancake...

Then while I patiently wait when he wants to go back to the Base of Operations or do this or that with his weapons or gear, every time I start getting full of gear, or I want to take one minute to sort through the crap ton of gear we just picked up in a mission, so you know, I can make certain I have the absolute best weapons and gear that I can equipped so that my character is in peak fighting shape for future missions, or I want to sell off stuff to make room for more loot, it's neverending "Are you ready? Are you ready? Come on, let's go do a mission, come on, well, I'm going ahead and doing this encounter now, come on, where are you?" like every 10 damn seconds from the moment we enter a safe house.

This also reminds me of Diablo. Anytime you play with anyone they don't want to wait for you to maximize your gear. In this game I don't like making people wait too long so generally I do it at the start of my gaming session.

I make my game private. Set myself invisible online. Then go in and spend like 20-40 minutes just shopping and buffing and trying to figure out the best skills, etc.

I REALLY wish they'd create an app for doing the character build-out so you can do it in the field (not shop but I mean look at various guns, damage, etc)..

I actually went and set my group privacy to invite only yesterday afternoon when I saw his account come online, because I knew it would only be a matter of time before he tried to join and all I wanted was a nice relaxing exploration of the final two zones of the map. I'm sure the kid means well, but damn! If he doesn't learn to chill it, I'm gonna just say to hell with it and block him, because it's starting to give me a headache. I don't remember him being that bad when I was teaming up with him in the beta.

And yes, I will be starting a new character at some point here.

Yeah he's hyper as hell, I think he must drink a ton of Mt. Dew. I would have probably already blocked him but yeah you feel bad and all. But a man can only take so much!!
