Re: No Man's Sky
Speaking of that, if you dismantle something there, do you get the resources back or just gone? That's one of my other reasons I would like to know what I have to see if I have something better to craft. Don't want to dismantle something and then not be able to get it back.
Another thing, if you haven't mastered the boost run, do it. Basically if you melee (R1) it lunges you forward, during that lunge if you push the jetpack button (X) it boosts you forward at the speed of the lunge. Time it right and you can cover massive amounts of ground, and jump large gaps, like a boss.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
A couple questions regarding ships:
1. Does anyone know if the pre-order ship has more cargo slots than the starter ship does? I've finally gotten my hyperdrive on the starter ship, so I feel alright about switching to the pre-order one if it's bigger now.
2. Does the layout of the slots matter at all? For example, one ship I was looking at had two slots off to the side that weren't connected to the other slots at all. Does this make a difference at all?NFL: Bills

Re: No Man's Sky
I've never once had the impression that this game had multiplayer, I always thought it was single player. Not really sure what the big deal is, it actually makes sense it doesn't have MP because part of the lure of the game is exploring on your own and feeling alone other than the creatures/aliens you run into.
If you need MP to enjoy this game then just hop in a party with your buds and enjoy the laughs as you explore, or just pass on it.
The creator of the game seems super genuine, I doubt he lied just to get people to buy it.

I'm not asking you to make excuses as to why this game doesn't have multiplayer.
I'm asking why don't we know by now if there's multiplayer in this game or not. We are STILL not sure of a yes or no and the game is being sold in droves. That's the big deal for someone like me on the fence waiting to jump on a side. Multiplayer confirmed would have me swiping my card by now.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
There are videos posted on Reddit of all the times Sean said you can find and see other players.
Additionally, Sean posted on Twitter and made it sound like servers are overloaded and perhaps that is why people couldnt see each other. In typical Sean/HG fashion he hasn't flat out confirmed or denied its in the game or not.
I firmly believe that some sort of basic co-op will be important for a lot of people to have longevity with the game. I'm not talking about people playing the game this week, I'm talking people playing it this time next year.
One of the main gripes I see from users and professional critics alike is feelings of "emptiness and loneliness." Just having the possibility of brushing up next to someone, even if it's once every 50 hours, could go a long way and be very special every time it happens.
I also feel that most survival games I've played (7 days, don't starve, Minecraft, terraria) have been better with other people. I don't think mass scale open universe free PVP should be forced on anyone, but basic simple co-op adventuring doesn't hurt anybody. IMO
I would bet a lot of money some sort of MP is either in the game already but just borked due to huge launch or will be on the way in an update.
Edit:
Also, I think it's crazy that people are spawning on starter planets that have already been discovered by other players.Last edited by The JareBear; 08-10-2016, 03:12 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

No Man's Sky
I found the plans for the hyperdrive but no plans for a warp core . Little concerned that I messed up. Right after finding the warp drive plans I swapped out for the preorder ship. Then I saw people who got screwed from going forward so now I'm just concerned. It seems to be okay but worried I won't find the warp drive plans like I probably would had I followed the original flow sans the preorder ship.

Re: No Man's Sky
This type of reaction to the game was what I was mostly worried was gonna happen.
NSFW Language. Video is kinda funny, I guess

I even read a review in progress just now where the guy mentioned Mass Effect as a comparison, referencing the party/group dynamics and how he wishes he was travelling with companions. I literally said on here awhile ago that I was worried people would expect this game to be "Mass Effect: Unlimited" and that just isn't what it is. Oh well. Seems like the reviews I have seem so far hover between 6/10 and 8/10.
Not that it really matters, as we have already discussed, this probably isn't a game that is fairly reviewed from one person's perspective."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Been browsing the image thread and noticed there aren't too many massive flat lands on these planets or am I mistaken?Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Found my first farm. Nothing like you gold planet luckies.
Best friend status with the Gek so that gives three dialog options when talking to one at an outpost. The top option is usually for them to give you something like units or fuel, which is Carbon or isotopes, which also can be Carbon. The bottom option is teach word a lot of times. All it takes is to give them 20 carbon to get the dialog options and since I can replace that with the top option I can just sit here forever and learn one word at a time.
I'll be fluent in no time! :goggle:Comment
