Re: Far Cry 4
I finally cleared all the outposts and bell-towers, but more importantly I finally upgraded my wallet. I'd been running around with 2mil max for about a week now.
This would be an interesting way to play through:
I love taking over outposts in Far Cry 3 and 4. Allowing for a variety of tactics and often devolving into highly improvisatory pyrotechnics, the outposts represent everything I like about the Far Cry...
I thought the outposts were easier when I was circling around and not paying attention to the tagged enemies on the mini-map.

I don't mind them attacking the outposts again, but I think it should be done in a way that allows you to take it and only triggers when you come back to it later, not as you're leaving.
Can someone confirm how this works in FC4, I'm really put off by what I heard about this.Comment

Re: Far Cry 4
Its actually not too prevalent. The outposts are randomly attacked, but they cannot be overtaken again by the Royal Army. An outpost in close proximity to you may be attacked, but one on the other side of the map will not.
Its just another way to gain XP, but you don't lose anything if you ignore them.

Re: Far Cry 4
I used to do sniper, assault, bow and 1 handed grenade launcher
now I do - sniper, smg, bazooka, crossbow and use the bazooka for vehicles only. I found myself over-using the launcher and it made it too easy of an 'escape'
earlier I found the heavy enemies too powerful, but now with my super high powered sniper I can kill them more realistically than having to use the launcher as a crutch.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Then a second play through where I just raise hell, use all the launchers etc and just blast people to bits and burn the honey badgers!Comment

I tend to do Sniper, Assault, Bow, and either SMG/Grenade depending on situation. Need to unlock a bazooka and try that though.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Far Cry 4
I believe you have to progress in the main storyline to unlock it and then you buy it OR you can liberate all Bell Towers and its free, but you'll have to complete A Key to the North in order to unlock the second half of the map.
I really, really wish they had spent more time building up the enemies that you defeat. I took out the second to last "villain" last night and the mission itself was okay, but I just didn't feel any motivation or any emotion towards the actual character. Vaas spoiled me I suppose.
Also, in FC5 I'd like to see a more dynamic enemy. You can take out propaganda centers and its a nice touch to hear Radio Free Kyrat in the unlocked Bell Tower regions, but it'd be nice if those types of things actually affected how the enemy behaved and different aspects of the region. Take out a weapons depot and it would reduce the quality of weapons or take over a weapons depot and it would improve your weapons. A dynamic outpost system like that would be awesome and combine that with a Shadow of Mordor/Mercenaries type "Hit List" of military personnel and it would really, really go a long way to make the enemies more alive in a world that already feels real.

Re: Far Cry 4
This is what I found searching:
"well, you will find it after "don't look down"(i am not sure of the name).
it's basically after you escape Yuma's prison, and sneak your way out of enemy lines.
and before you enter the valley, you will find a dead body with a note indicating that the enemy is guarding the weapon supply that they had abandoned(now you must use it).
if my memory serves me right, i remember it was in a big red building on the left, inside you will find various weapons, including the auto crossbow.
"
But to be honest I know I wasn't very far story wise into the game, I had done a bunch of towers and outposts, but don't most weapons say what you need to do to unlock them? I think I just paid for it as soon as I unlocked it.
It's def satisfying using the cross bow as a silent weapon, it's different from the bow and I think a bit weaker? but most just take one shot, some 2 - it's more like firing a gun. you can get off 6 shots in as fast as it takes to pull the trigger and the sound of a hit is satisfying - that said it's a lot like the bow in terms of situational use.
I did a bunch of peripheral campagn missions as well as 'main' ones ... for me N. Kyrat is still blocked off so the people claiming you need to get that far to unlock it are flat out wrong. I've had it for a while now...
*edit* it appears 17 bell towers will do it and I probably did that assuming there are that many without unlocking north KyrattLast edited by allBthere; 12-09-2014, 03:03 PM.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment
