Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
This was my first online multiplayer experience on the PS3 and loved it. I am not against futuristic shooters it's just I don't want it in the COD franchise. When I think of Medal Of Honor, Call Of Duty, Battlefield I think of historical warefare & respect for the soldier. The early games did this well but now have strayed to far for my liking. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/HDfQ18eioM4?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>"If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
It's probably partially nostalgia, but I really haven't been into any shooters (at least their campaigns) since they moved to modern settings. I played the old COD and Medal of Honor WWII games a lot. Some good times...
It may be that I've just grown out of shooters, though. I don't know. I do enjoy playing BFBC2 online from time to time.
I haven't bought the last few COD games and this looks like another pass.
I think Medal of Honor probably made the best games. I miss them. I've never been too much into multiplayer with shooters, but the campaigns used to be a lot of fun. I feel like most campaigns are half-***ed these days with full attention given to multiplayer. Even though I do occasionally enjoy BFBC2's multiplayer, I couldn't stomach it's bland campaign.Last edited by superjames1992; 05-04-2014, 01:14 AM.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
I remember one of the Medal of Honor games (I think it was European Assault?) where the last mission was breaking into a bunker. Anyways, in that game you couldn't save at checkpoints, so if you got killed you had to start the whole mission over. Man, those were some frustrating times, but also very fun. I always got tense once I got far into the mission and knew I would have wasted X amount of minutes if I got killed so close to the end!
Rising Sun was great, too. Hell, I don't think there was a Medal of Honor game on the old Xbox that wasn't fun. Maybe I need to break those games out again for some fun. The graphics are dated as hell, but whatever. It's not that big of a deal to me.Comment

Each level was amazing and were levels you could replay again, and again, and again without ever getting bored of them. The video of that song I posted was from probably the most popular level in Frontline. You're a paratrooper that fell in Arnhem and you're trying to fight your way out of a war destroyed city. Fighting your way through seemingly endless German military, bullets flying everywhere, enemies everywhere. Buildings destroyed, rubble everywhere, explosions everywhere. The music and atmosphere that was created for that level was perfect. It's hailed as one of the best levels in the Medal of Honor series. With today's modern FPS you don't get that feeling during the levels like you did with older games. It's a shame really.
The Call of Duty campaigns haven't been bad, but for me they've never been memorable except for a couple levels from Call of Duty 4. I play them once and never play it again. I still have my MoH: Frontline copy for my Gamecube and it's still a game I pop into my Gamecube and play from time to time.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
I'm strictly a campaign player. Love World at War, and the Modern Warfare trilogy (despite some of the plot reaches.) Didn't care for Black Ops, and had no interest in Ghosts. My wife bought me Ghosts; I've played almost half of it, but it hasn't grabbed me like the first Modern Warfare did. I don't know if I'm going to finish Ghosts.
Seeing the direction Call of Duty is going in, I have to say that I'm going to stay on the sidelines for this one too. I don't care for futuristic shooters. I still have my favorites mentioned above. I also have Splinter Cell Blacklist and Max Payne 3 when I need a change of pace in gun play. Plus I spend most of my time playing NHL.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
I really enjoyed the Black Ops campaign and Zombies but hated everything else about the game.
Modern Warfare 3 was the last CoD I owned and I sold it after a month.
I still pop MW2 and CoD4 in though when I need a break from BF4. I just wish World at War's multiplayer wasn't a hackfest nowadays.

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Im looking forward to this game seems really interesting to me.
The only thing I'm really hoping for is for them to take things away from the MP side of things and make it more challenging.
I would like to see less perks and killstreaks like COD4, and I would like for the melee to be more of a stealth option than a panic option.

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
I'm kinda picky. I don't care too much for futuristic weaponry but the whole world war II era doesn't impress me either. I prefer modern warfare by far. Still, I enjoy every cod, even if it is just a big DLC every year. BO2 was really bad and GTA has pulled me away from ghosts which is mediocre too. I'll buy it though, I'm just another sheep I guess. Campaigns on most games get boring too quick for me. For sports games I can play season after season by myself but for shooters online is so much more entertaining.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
They were the first to jump to modern warfare (probably not actually true, but once they did everybody else jumped on board). One of the first to include zombie DLC too. Their perk system also became trendy.
