This is the first time in maybe forever that I agree with every move they made in this recent patch for console. I strongly feel like the 30 percent turret damage nerf was way too severe, way too early, and just way too much of kneejerk reaction in general so close to launch. As soon as the tank meta materialized people started figuring out how to smash Torbjorn on console and that was before the nerf. I agree that the turrets should have been tuned downward slightly, and with this new re-balance that is exactly where they are at. Bravo.

I also really like the changes to Bastion. I am active on the Overwatch subreddit and people complain about the tank meta all the time there. I have said for a long time that Bastion could be an answer for it, if they just make him a bit more viable. He crushes Rein's shield in a way no other hero can come close to and actually gives Rein someone to fear for once. It also will help Sombra me mored viable as her hack will be vital to getting Bastion out of his sentry form.

I was hoping to his masters this season, but am still stuck in diamond. If anyone wants to team up on PS4 let me know.

Seriously. It's ridiculous. He's a little easier to deal with at range, but you're never going to kill him if he has teammates to support him because of ironclad. And that's in balanced game modes. He completely ruins any arcade mode where more than 1 bastion is allowed. Not that the game should be balanced around that, but it is telling.

How does bastion go live. How did they think that was ok?

If you guys follow this games official forum, or the subreddit, you would see just thread after thread complaining about the tank meta and also complaining that Sombra needs a buff. The bastion change is designed to help address both. People who are tired of just seeing Reinhardt walk casually forward without a care in the world are happy because Bastion destroys that shield like no one else can, and now Sombra is a huge hard counter for Bastion to hack him out of sentry mode.

Problem with tank meta was that Ana solo healing them all was waaaay too effective. It wasn't a dps problem.

Bastion can just do so damn much now. Squeezing other heroes out of the game.

I follow the official forum and understand how bad the tank meta was. However the last patch before this one created more viable team options as 2-2-2 and even 3 dps team compositions were working. Plus creating one ridiculous character just to solve another ridiculous problem is certainly not the answer.

I like that they rebalanced his kit for recon mode, but no character should be able to survive ults just by self healing through them. The official forums have been erupting over this bastion since he went on Ptr a couple weeks ago.

The new hero sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to try whenever that update hits consoles.

Also, I feel my previous posts regarding Bastion and whatnot weren't articulated well. Please allow me to revise what I was trying to say.

Basically, I feel like I would rather "heroes that don't get picked a lot" get buffed, rather than "heroes who get picked a lot" get nerfed. I know a lot of people complain about Reinhardt and his 88 percent pick-rate but I think Rein, by himself, is fine as is. I am glad they went with buffing counters than just nerfing a good hero. A game like this is going to be hard to balance perfectly. I feel like Blizzard tried to give us a great new "counter hero" in Sombra but people either A.) Don't play her at all, or B.) play her wrong, try to play her like Soldier. I tell people all the time that Sombra is the Winston of DPS heroes, you can't just try to play her like you play Soldier or Pharah. I liked what Blizzard tried to do with Sombra in that regard.

Just my humble opinion, of course.

Do they have no common sense? Bastian should've never been released like he is now.

A mercy, bastian, Reinhardt combo is just insane.

Hah, I remember when the game first came out and the Mercy-Rein-Bastion trinity could just sit on a payload and escort it across the map non-stop. Most teams at that time didn't know how to counter.

Not that this has anything to do with your post, really, but it just reminded me of the "Good ol days."

I play tank about 75% of the time so I'm pumped for Orisa. Can finally lift the "anchor" tank burden from Rein.

It's interesting to me that all 3 new characters since the games release have had support ultimates.

You guys probably pull this kind of thing off all the time, but I was really happy with this, I don't get great plays very often at all.

I love Dva. Even with the nerf, which was justified IMO, I still play her so much.

I don't think they went far enough with the Bastion nerf. 20% on Ironclad may be ok, but his heal is still too strong. It probably needs it's resource meter cut some. Either that or reduce its output. The ironclad nerf does nothing to help an ulting genji kill Bastion in Recon mode.

The new hero looks really cool. It will be interesting to see if she really is a kind of Reinhardt replacement though.

New character does a lot of stuff. I don't know what's with blizzard giving characters common abilities that are other hero's ultimate abilities.

I am curious to see if the new tank ends up truly being an alternative to Rein or if tank-meta comps just slot it in with a Rein
