I rarely venture away from sports game (although I've loved the Arkham series of games), but this game just looks really intriguing to me. From the first time I read about it, it sounded like something I'd be interested in. And after reading all the updates, it's still at the top of my list for 2016. I'm looking forward to hearing more info in the coming weeks.

BTW, I always love a good honey badger video. I've watched that one numerous times, and it's always great! Haha

This sounds like something I could really get into and top far cry 3 for me. So far it's at the top of my list for next year.

What will we do? Race leopards and deliver banana leaves to meet our great ancestors?

I need more info to define if it's a day one for me, but I like the idea on the paper.
After watching some pre-alpha gameplays, my opinion is still the same. Players seem to have one bow, one hatchet (hammer, wtv) and one spear, which can be thrown. They can be lit on fire and poisoned. Other than that, nothing.

The map seems to be huuge and there is no way to move fast on the map other than fast travel. No way to mount animals.

The game on the first person view seems a bit clumsy when you hit anyone. The enemy just doesn't feel that is being hit. The interaction with animals is way better than humans, when it comes to fighting them.

All of it in pre-alpha. It looks fun but also looks damn repetitive. I hope there's something hidden for the final cut.

I also read somewhere there's no villain, such as Vaas or Pagan Min. I definitely need to see more of it to judge whether it is a day one purchase.

I wonder how this'll compare to stuff like the early access Ark game (or whatever it's called)

This setting could be awesome. I would think that we still need a human villain though.

Ehh, I was hoping it would be different enough from 4 to warrant a purchase, but it looks to similar. Cna't see myself spending $60 on it.

I love the FC series but Im really hoping this game isnt considered Far Cry 5... I want another like FC3.

                      FC was released in March
                      FC2 in November
                      FC3 in December
                      FC4 in November

                      We'll see I guess.

It's definitely NOT considered to be part of the main numbered franchise. It's more like a spin off or expansion like Instincts Predator or Blood Dragon.

Personally, it appears to be heavily focused on stealth, hunting and exploring which works for me.

You're only half right. While it's not part of the numbered franchise it's also NOT considered a spinoff or expansion ala Blood Dragon. The devs consider this their next full-fledged, stand-alone Far Cry game.

**** this quote tells me this is essentially FC5... That's really disappointing for me as I was looking forward to another FC game like 3 and 4.

This one doesn't interest me at all.

I'm sort falling in line with your thinking as well. I said earlier in this thread that I was all in but the more I've watched and read, I'm just not excited at all. FC3 was one of my favorite games last gen, and I had a lot of fun with FC4. Maybe it's the fatigue talking but I'll probably pass on this or possibly pick up way down the road for cheap.

Like you, I hope we get something much more akin to a "FC5" in the future.

I'm also on the fence with this one. Cool concept, but I feel like it would work better outside the game style of Far Cry.
