I've always enjoyed the Far Cry series as I LOVE anything open-world!

I haven't finished FC4 as I honestly stopped playing as (I can't for the life of me remember), but there must have been another game that came along to take me away from it and I just never went back.

This game would be a must-buy for me at launch, but I just have way too many titles sitting in my collection that I can pick this up later.

**I can't speak for everyone, but I think (the consensus is) this tends to be most our problems here at OS; we easily get distracted by another title - lol

I thought about Gameflying this next week, but I decided to get some Agatha Christie mystery game instead lol. Far Cry 4 kind of turned me off from this one. It looks like more of the same. Honestly, I think I'd like this series a lot more without animals attacking you all the time. Fighting off tribes without a tiger or eagle jumping on your back every 5 or 10 minutes would be awesome. I'll read around and see how people are feeling it after it releases.

Man. I love those random animal encounters. I'm sure I'll cave and purchase. I'm too weak. Although I enjoyed 3 a lot more than 4.

Far Cry Primal (Feb. 2016)

My son and I game share and out of the blue I get a call from him and he's raving about this game. He's about 4 hours in and he said he's hooked. It pulled him away from Destiny/Division Beta.

He said Dad I love this game. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm off work now so I will get anywhere from 2-4 hours in tonight. Currently I have about 2/3 hours total right now.

Trying to preorder the deluxe version on ps4 from bb online to be picked up in-store.

Problem is the stores it shows I can pick it up from are over 80 miles away.

Never had this issue before, I have ordered anything online and had it delivered to my store a mile away for pickup.

No clue why they are restricting stores for pickup.

Looks fun and I want to get it, guess I need to go to my store and ask what is up.

Shame that majority aren't looking forward to this game. Primal is going to be like AC Syndicate....a very good or better game that the majority simply overlook and ignore.

Assassin's Creed lost me a long time ago. Syndicate may be good, but I thought the other ones I tried sucked so bad that I didn't give it a chance.

Far Cry may turn things around with this new setting. It looks interesting enough. Time will tell whether or not the game is any good.

I feel what CAMPBLACKMAMBA is saying about only your own reviews mattering. This is very true, for the most part. If I'm pretty sure that I'm going to like a game, I snatch it up day one, reviews be damned. However, when I'm shaky like I am with this title, it helps to read various opinions. You don't take any of them as fact, but it helps give you a good idea of what you're getting into and can help you make a more informed decision.

Love calling on my Owl and have him scout the area for potential danger before I set out on foot to the next location. Spotted a Mountain Lion attacking several cave men??
What's pretty cool is after you take off headed to the location you end up coming across dead bodies that have been killed by wild animals. Then you might see Buzzards feeding on dead bodies. Crazy stuff

You can't just go running out in the wild because you never know what's coming. Using the tamed Owl helps because it shows you what you might end up facing but you don't know when you will be attacked. I've had a few OH shhh moments that scared the crap outta me. Lol

Game is pretty damn cool. A change from the norm

Hearing a lot of mixed opinions on this game. Will wait for the price drop that occurs with all Ubi games before checking it out.

Watching some video from this game and it looks good to me. The combat looks like it could get stale after a while since there aren't too many weapons you can use, but the make the melee combat look savage and as always the bows look great. It seems like some people don't like it much because of the lack of main story content, and it mostly being side missions. That's a plus to me though since I always felt the main story missions to 3 and 4 were the worst missions in those games. The side content and capturing outposts was always more enjoyable.

You can also turn off skinning/gathering animations which is a godsend. I got so tired of watching them in 3 and 4,

I probably won't buy it at launch, I'll wait for the eventual Steam sale where its 30-40% off in a few months.

I think this is definitely a get for me. I was already interested in the atmosphere alone, but it sounds like a fun game, just not memorable. I can live with that, just a matter of waiting on it to go on sale or not.

Turning off the skinning animations was definitely needed. Great addition.

I didn't know the skinning animations could be turned off, that's great! I agree, the main story was the weakest part of 3 and 4, so I am not too concerned with that. The most enjoyable parts were the side quests, outposts, hunting animals. Like you, I will wait for a price drop though. Too many games at the moment.
