Re: Days Gone
Not even going to read it. Reviews don't really mean a lot to me. It's the same with movies. Not everyone likes the same stuff, so I can't put much stock into them. I've always planned on waiting for this to drop to half price, anyways, so I'll still get it later on and decide for myself.#LFC

Damn, that's disappointing... I'm cancelling my pre-order for now, I'll be content with The Show and The Division 2.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: Days Gone
Maybe I just don't have a lot going on in my life, but I honestly cannot understand how a game being LONG, or what some CONSIDER long as a problem. When I play open world games, every other game goes on the back burner. I prepare myself to invest a solid 2 or 3 months in the game. I lose myself in it and try and "role play." I know that I put in over 300 hours with The Witcher 3 and probably CLOSE to that in Fallout 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn, AC: Origins, and Red Dead 2. I guess if you're interested in playing multiple games, I can understand where some may find it difficult. That's just not how I do video games.#LFC

I play games on a daily basis typically about 1 hour or two a night. Its not a issue where I don't have time as I am adult with no wife or kids. My attention span is short so i'm not able to play like 5 hours straight. I usually get tired of games around the 25 hour mark and I'm ready to move on to the next one as by the time I'm done its been a month or so. They are exceptions to this as this past year I've put prob 100+hours in RDR and 70 in HZD. If a game is going to get me to do all the side quest and spend a ton of time it has to really catch my attention and have both a good story and be fun.
From the sound of reviews the side quest / gameplay appear to be repetitive just to say the game is x long if you complete everything. I thought of Far Cry a game where I completed the main story and a side quest are two just I never had a desire to do everything on the map. I will still play that kind of game its just something I will wait for it to drop in price.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: Days Gone
A movie can be great but I don’t want to sit in a theatre for 4 hours. Same goes for some video games. DAI had too much fetch quest stuff as an example. There is a difference between a game being long and filled with good content or tedious content.Comment

Re: Days Gone
See for me its different I prefer games to be long but for movies I normally dont like movies if they are much more than like 2.5 hours because then the tend to fell like they are dragging and dont need some of the time they have. There are some movies that are long that I like and dont have that issue with but most of the time they fell like they are longer than they needed to be.Comment

LOL. (Solas is also a supreme jerk that I’m glad I punched when I had the option. I do think an Anthem online co-op with DA4 could be awesome ).Comment

Re: Days Gone
Thing with the reviews is, especially the mainstream ones, they usually always overrate the big hyped up AAA stuff if anything. Not the other way around.
And Bioware has been terrible since the doctors left.Comment

Re: Days Gone
Picked up my copy at 9pm at GameStop. Started playing at 10pm. The biggest issue I have after playing three hours is the lack of HUD options. Like seriously, you can only turn off the damage numbers and that's it.
Playing on hard. Haven't died yet. Using mostly stealth. Love all the resource gathering and scavenging. Solid intro. There's a weird thing with the flashlight that Deacon uses. First, it's nowhere to be found on his body and second, it's based on the camera so if you rotate the camera to where Deacon is looking at you as the player, the flashlight will be shining on the area behind him. Came across a bug in a camp where a woman was sitting on a bench but she was about two feet away so basically, she was in the position but nothing was holding her. Aside from that, everything else has been good.
I don't believe that the game is only a 72. Visually and audio wise, game is excellent. The rain was damn good too. I can easily see myself giving the game between an 8 and 9. It's not 9+ material but at the same time, I just started so I don't know how the stories will play out but based on podcasts I listen to, the story and characters are arguably the best thing in the game. Have to wait and see how that all plays out.
Gameplay wise, it feels fluid and responsive. Maybe a little too much because I can just slightly move the left analog and Deacon will move faster. Doing stealth against the freakers, you have to be slow and careful. Should be a little tighter but minor complaint. Melee is brutal. Shooting thus far has been good with a handgun, shotgun and crossbow. Love the shotgun by the way.
Difficulty wise, almost died once but didn't so thankfully, haven't died yet. On hard, as far as I can tell, you can NOT mark enemies at least not with the binoculars. Will try tomorrow by aiming a gun at them and see what happens.
Visuals and HDR looks great in my opinion. This is definitely not an area of concern. LOL. Will post more tomorrow night as I will be playing all day tomorrow.Comment
