30 hours in...Days Gone is a combination of The Last of Us, Mad Max and State of Decay. Still at least an 8 but could hit a 9 for me depending on how the story lines all play out.

Rudy hated RDR2.
He also prefers Oatmeal Raisin to Chocolate Chip.
You must take that into consideration. I'm not sure I can trust anyone who would take Oatmeal Raisin over CC. I'd report them to DOHS immediately.

I prefer chocolate chip! But oatmeal raisin is underrated!

I own the game but haven't tried it. But I feel like you might be overthinking the horde thing. I will goes as far too say that was probably a draw for lots of zombie fans.

So far I'm really happy I pre-ordered this game. I'm still very early in the game, but loving it so far.
Took out a camp and raided the gas station all in super stealthy mode. Love the sound and eye meters letting you know how sneaky you're being.
Just another game that proves you can't rely on reviews entirely.
Some of my fav games didn't get good reviews and they turned out awesome.

Sleeping Dogs has a 77% and Mad Max a 69% metacritic rating.
Two of the most fun games I've played over the past decade.

Those two games were a 9.0/10 for me. Loved both and preferred Sleeping Dogs over GTA 5 to be perfectly honest.

Barring the storylines becoming a disaster (which I highly doubt), Days Gone will be hitting my 9.0/10 scale after last night. Did two bounties in the snow last night and the atmosphere of everything was amazing. That and more importantly, the gunplay just got better. Was using level 1 weapons which are listed as "junk". Acquired a level 3 shotgun and wow, what a difference. Two shots max to take down enemies, one if it's a headshot and no longer having the clunky issues. Handgun is still at level 1 but man, the shotgun, felt as good as it did in the opening/intro.

35 hours in since Thursday night and while it has it's issues, im having one hell of a great time with Days Gone. Majority of critics and gamers made up their mind long before the game was ever released because I have seen some low scores that simply boggle my mind. Even if you're not a fan of the game or whatever, it's no worse than a 7.0/10. Seeing 6's and a few 3's or some crap and im like, these people shouldn't even be reviewing games because just no.

Funny thing is that "popular games" that get high scores, I disagree with more than not and believe that they're overrated while the not so popular games that get low scores, I also disagree with and believe that they're underrated and in most cases, hidden gems.

Haven’t really got the hang of the inventory system. I don’t know how to optimize my loot quite yet.

Also, if you pick up a gun, you can store it in the safe? How do you do that? I’ve come across a number of weapons but you can only carry primary, side arm and crossbow. Am I missing something?

Visuals are A+, story is grabbing me, and the gameplay is solid, if not a tad clunky.

Game feels Walking Dead-esque, very fun

Any weapon that you pick up can be carried and used but ONLY purchased weapons can and will be automatically stored in the Gun Locker. Gunplay and shooting mechanics get better once you get higher leveled weapons. Majority of the weapons found in the world or from enemies are level 1 "junk" weapons. LOL.

Some are reporting major issues with that patch including crashes. I'm still at version 1.05 and outside of some frame rate drops/slowdown here and there, not really having any technical issues.

42 hours in and I haven't faced off with one yet. Since it could be potential spoilers, all im going to say is that whatever fear you have with the hordes in the game, honestly shouldn't exist.

I did run into three smaller swarms of maybe 50 or so in a bunch and died pretty quickly but this was due to having junk weapons, not being prepared and trying to go about what I was doing and was interrupted by the swarm.

Should have kept your pre-order. Damn "kids" nowadays. Hehehehe.

Thank God for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They’re the only thing keeping me from caving and buying this NOW. Lol! Still plan on playing through Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey as my summer game and holding out for a sale on Days Gone. Not gonna be easy, tho! 🙃
