    Re: Days Gone

I'm hoping they come back to this at some point down the road. I understand (some) of why the critical response was lukewarm, but I would have thought the fan response, which was generally positive, and sales, would have been a no brainer for a sequel.

Learn from the first game and build on what Bend did with this game and you've got a sure fire big time hit with a sequel.

Wasn’t this game a technical mess when it launched? I have a feeling that was a big part of the average/low review scores. Luckily, I didn’t pick this up until long after it was patched up, and absolutely loved this game. I want to say this was my first platinum trophy ever, and I really got hooked on trophy hunting afterwards. I think I’m at 9 platinums now? I owe that to Days Gone making it fun to try and get all of the trophies in the game, and I did it all in one play through as well.

Definitely bummed if we never get a sequel. Days Gone is either my 2nd or 3rd favorite PS4 game, can never decide between this and Horizon.

Yea the game had a ton of bugs when the review copies went out. I want to say they got the review copies super early also. By the time the public got it most of them was fixed.

With the bugs fixed and a shorter game that would have solved most of the issues for the game.

The one sequel that I was looking forward to the most was of course, cancelled. I am not a fan of Jim "Don Mattrick" Ryan and Herman Hulst. Easily prefer Shawn Layden and Shu Yoshida.

Jimbo doesn't believe that Days Gone 2 is worth the risk but yet, creating a new IP as opposed to using the foundation, structure and assets of an already established game is somehow someway not as big of a risk. SMH.

And of course, it seems like Naughty Dog is back to doing a new Uncharted game and are developing a TLOU remake. Like, really? A remake of a game that doesn't need it? UGH.

I'm very happy that I decided to go with Microsoft and Xbox Series X as my primary gaming console for this generation. While not as bad as 2013 Microsoft, Sony is doing so many things that makes them look so out of touch which reminds me of 2013 with Microsoft.

Best of all, this generation has only begun and Xbox is only going to get better. PlayStation....who the hell knows at this point. UGH.

            Re: Days Gone

Im honestly insanely upset that the sequel was, at best, put on hold. I had a BLAST playing this game, and honestly thought it was more enjoyable than TLOU2. I thought the gameplay was solid and the storyline was severely underrated. I personally am kinda excited for an Uncharted 5 as I haven't played any of them yet, but I'd rather have a Days Gone 2 more than anything else.

Just started playing this after realizing it was free on PS+.

I don't really know what to expect. I've had it on my wishlist for a while, but my backlog never really goes away. I still haven't finished Spider-Man, for example. I remember it got delayed a bunch and the initial response didn't seem great, IIRC. No comment yet on the actual quality because I'm only an hour in or so.

After playing it a bit more, I've noticed there are still some bugs and technical flaws. On occasion the FPS will dive, at least on an OG PS4. I've also completed some of those side missions (the blue question marks) but then the "finish" is bugged, or at least I think it is.

I've run into a bunch of different hostage situations but then I can't set them free and direct them to a camp after finishing off all the baddies. Sometimes the event disappears altogether.

Is it even worth it to follow these things?

Hmmm. You're having some really bad luck, man. I played on the OG PS4, too and I can't remember ever having one bug. I've noticed the ? disappear before, but it usually means that I was too late and the person in need of help has been killed. I'd keep trying a bit longer. It's a really good game.
