Finished the story and completed one of the two sub-missions that open up. I tried like twenty times, but just couldn't do one of them, then went and completed the main epilogue mission. Might dive into Way of the Strong (NG+) if the DLC is any good.



Nioh is easily Team Ninja's best work since Ninja Gaiden Black. Mechanically it's so solid and simply fun to play. I thought it dragged a bit in the second-half though, because by the midway point you've pretty much seen everything the game's going to throw at you. More memorable looking environments and enemy variety are things that can easily be improved in a hopeful sequel, and this game certainly deserves one.

Does it ask you before you start NG+? In other words, can you keep going back and doing missions before you accept NG+?

Also be aware that there is a whole new level of weapons available (green) in NG+ so it's probably worth checking it out. I may keep separate saves for the DLC, one regular and one where I have already started NG+.

You can keep doing missions once the credits roll. It's the epilogue mission afterwards that when completed unlocks NG+.

You can switch between the two NG+ and NG modes through the region map screen whenever you want.

Finally beat this game. Struggled with the final stage, specifically one boss (Of the many).

What a great damn game. Finished it at level 100.

So even after you start NG+ you can go back to your game before NG+, or am I misunderstanding?

Yeah the game doesn't treat it as the typical ng+. You just unlock a new difficulty, Way of the Strong. At the region selection screen, you press square to switch difficulties.

Anyone wanna run some yokai realm coop in NG+? It looks like you can start it right off the bat without having to complete the mission first. I mainly want the coop trophy, but I'm down to farm bosses for specific drops too. Yokai realm coop counts towards your progression too, it's not the same as the typical summon visitor.
