Am I misremembering or was the whole plan to have new updates every few months that basically allowed us to play through the war in an appropriate timeline? Did they basically just scrap almost all of that, give us a couple of things and then skip right to the Pacific theater?

Pretty much. They had to spend time fixing bugs and some festered for weeks to months. Weapons and content drops were delayed and like AUChase said, the maps that were put out were TDM sized. Lots of misused and wasted development time.

Let's not forget the waste of time that was Firestorm.

I hope they go back to modern times. I'm burnt out on WW2 era.

Hopefully it's BC3 and is done properly, but I don't know if I'll expect any BF game to be done properly anymore. If they don't go back to BC, I'd like to see them go to the early to mid 80's and have a Cold War era game, but actually have accurate weapons and tech and not any of this prototype crap they've done for BF1 or V.

This is good news for BF5 in that they’ll likely continue to support it until Jan 2021. So as long as the player base doesn’t plummet, we should hopefully see one more chapter, which one would assume is going to be the Eastern front/push to Berlin. That way they could bring in all the weapons of WW2 and show some fresh landscapes that have been seen before or in this quality.

Not sure how many of you are still playing, but they absolutely destroyed this game with their latest patch, 5.2. SMG's are like paintball guns, I didn't even try the LMG's/MMG's but I read they've gotten quite a nerf as well.

This game was finally starting to come along and they just completely butcher it. Whoever approves these updates clearly doesn't pay attention to the community. It actually has me considering buying MW, because at least there I'll have my buddies to play with.

I'd rather 70s-90s, not 2019 and beyond. BF Retro is what I would like lol, lots of cool weapons, good mix of modern stuff but not too much

Honestly, I might not be giving EA or DICE my money anymore with this franchise after how they've handled the entire lifespan of this game. It would need to be a near carbon copy of BF3's gameplay for me to even sniff the game.

After I heard all the good things about this game turning the corner and playing for the past few weeks, I decided to delete this game. I can use the 100GB space. I've given up hope that BF will return to the glory days of 3 and 4.

Make that a carbon copy of Bad Company 2 and then you'll have me back in. BF3 was when they first started to make the game play too fast and chaotic.

Friend of mine showing off one of the many issues with the 5.2 patch.

Tanks basically have auto aim now. It doesn't hurt that he's one of the best tankers I've ever seen on Battlefield either.

BF3 was my first Battlefield game

There's this, there's actually evidence of auto aiming "whip" mechanic on some SMG's as well.

However, they did just release a "hotfix" for a handful of things that they got MAJOR flak for...the 3D spotting (enemies showing up through smoke, buildings, etc.) is gone, and then they buffed a few of the guns that they screwed up with the original 5.2 patch. I haven't played it yet, but in my pissed off stretch that I had with this game, I bought MW for $38 since so many of my buddies play it; we'll see how that goes, since I told myself I wouldn't cave in.
