Like I said, a big mistake people do to lose weight is starve themselves. Wrong, wrong, wrong. To lose weight, you must eat! 6 small meals a day, eating every 2 to 3 hours. High protein, moderate carbs, and low fat with plenty of water.

Im not sure how much of an investment you want to make with your diet.. I would recommend buying a foreman grill, some spices, and some skinless boneless 99.9% fatfree chicken tenders. A 4lb. bag at sams club is only $11.00. I could honestly live off of that, a bowl of wheaties, and tons of fruits and veggies. Cooking them on the foreman is the lazier way of doing it, because I like to marinade my chicken and you use a skillet.... so...

If you dont want to buy the foreman grill, I recommend going to your local grocery store and buying marninades for meats. It's all spices and it makes your food very very good.. Cook your food on a skillet with some olive oil. Prep time is 25 minutes, including the marinading for 20. Cooking takes about 12 minutes. Highly recommended. It's the little packaged stuff. Don't look for liquid marinade. The spices have no fat calories.. so if you cook the 99.9% fatfree chicken with some good Olive oil, fat is almost nonexistant for that great meal.

Co-sign. A foreman grill is a great start, I've got one. A big part of a healthy diet is taking your grocery shopping seriously. Checking nutrition labels, expiration dates, good produce, food preparation time, etc.

Well what about for my situation which I stated on the last page. I don't wanna lose weight, I wanna gain it, preferably mostly in the msucle department. I am going for the proiten shake powder stuff you suggested, but how about for food in general?

So is sleep that important? is 8 hours really needed?
            Wow. That sounds incredible.

I don't think that's possible for someone under say 25 or 30 years old. Especially in your teens and early-mid 20s, you are still growing, filling out, etc. Hormones are raging and your body needs a LOT of time to sleep and develop.

When you're full-grown, 30+ years (or 70), maybe that is possible, although it seems unlikely. I would be interested to know what he does for work, etc. I know anyone with any sort of physical labor job would need more sleep than that, as well as anything requiring a high level of mental activity. I mean, there are a lot of things that just playin wear you out and 3 hours of sleep just wont cut it, no matter how old you are.

I know your right, because Ive heard tons and tons of people preach this, but im just curious on why thats true. The way im looking at it is that you lose weight when you burn more calories than you take it...well if you dont eat that much your not taking in very many calories, so how is it not an effective way to lose weight? Or is it effective, just the health issues that people say not to do it?

Im wondering this because im considering going back to the same routine I was in when I finished high school and lost 35 pounds. By have little to no breakfast, a small sandwich for lunch (ham/cheese/mircle whip, or peanutbutter/jelly) and then a basic dinner whatever that might be (chicken stake, vegtibles, subway, sometimes spegehtti). Then trying to hold off the rest of the night without anything. But with everyone saying eat 5, 6, 7 times a day it gets me confused. I know you have to pick what you eat 6-7 times a day, but it makes me feel like im gaining weight rather than lose it. Especially since I dont do much weight lifting, and occational cardio. IM just trying to work on my stomach thats all for now.

Sure you can, just prepare. Bring yogurt, a breakfast bar (the right kind), and fruit for your small meals/snacks.

Try masturbation in a sauna. Works for me.

EDIT: You might want to do it alone. Otherwise it might offend some folks.

Ok guys, so I started today. The thing is, instead of the 100 percent protien whey powder my dad got me the Creatine powder. Now how is this for a schedule....

                      Wake up
Drink Creatine powder with 20. oz water (like it says)
Jog around the block for 20 minutes.
Eat after the jog at my house
                      School
                      At night, lift my weights.
Drink shake again (like it says)

How is this? And please lemme know what I should be eating as well. I had a bagel with peanut butter just now, earlier I had a peanut butter PowerBar thing, and in school I had a cold cut sandwich.

Re: best way to tone up?

I'm working on eating better now. For the last few days I've been watching it.

I've got a george foreman grill, so I've used that for chicken. I also made some fish the other day. Right now I'm having Rigatoni with crushed tomatoes that I heated on the stove, with some basil added to it.

My fiance decided to join weight watchers, so I'm kind of looking at the points with her. It's an interesting system. I'm trying to keep to 24 pts a day for myself. I'm sure there are better methods - but this way really makes you look at what you're eating, and makes you plan your day.

I also went to the grocery store the other day and got broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots - then cut them all up and made little snack bags with them. So, when I'm hungry, I can just grab one from the fridge. It makes it really easy. I've been eating a lot of them this week - I need to go out and by double what I did.

They're nothing special. Other fruit is much better.

                              eating is a definite key

you can work out every day, but if you dont eat right...you wont get the results that you want.

eat a lot, but eat healthy. Dont eat crap and stay away from fast food.
