Let me lay my hand flat on my fiance's chest to show off my engagement ring or wedding ring, because simply saying "I'm engaged now" or "I'm married now" is not enough.

How every big play in sports (mostly football or basketball for me) are "home run plays" or how certain guys are "home run hitters" or have the ability to "hit the home run".

Maybe it's just me, but I don't particularly care for it.

As for the word I don't find it annoying.
I don't know how this became a discussion about if the word is a trend or not or why that even matters.

I'm glad the word doesn't annoy you, but it is annoying to me.

I don't care if it is an arbitrary "trend" or not.

True. But I also don't like when people purposely push their parade through my rainy day.

Similarly, let me hold my hand in the air to show my ring with a shocked or surprised face because nobody's ever seen a ring before.

I said it before, I will say it again, Matrix needs his own reality tv show. His views on things just cracks me up.

Frickin' not knowing where a game last saved itself. These current-gen... next-gen games or whatever have their own designated checkpoints, and I know they sometimes show an icon but it's just not reliable enough. Then maybe the game has some cut scenes but not others, and it's just not recognizable when it actually saved because it's all seamless.

Then you fire it up again and realize how far back you've gone because the game didn't save where you thought or hoped, or it doesn't tell you where it last saved.

Back to school commercials airing more than 2 weeks before school is back(and more specifically,in July). Just saw one today, and it always gets me mad to see. Thankfully these no longer apply to me but even when I was a kid in school,I hated seeing these commercials. I could just be watching tv in middle of summer vacation, and then some stupid store starts airing back to school commercials......It's July!
