Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I had a similar situation with a fruit tree at my house probably about 5 years ago now. When my parents first moved into our current house there were 2 large pine trees in the front yard and then off to the side was a smaller bush looking thing that never really looked like anything. A storm ended up wrecking the pine trees so we had to cut them down, so all of a sudden the sun is constantly shining on the bush thing, and it starts growing crab apples! So many people were stopping to pick the apples off this tree and then we also got into a dispute with our neighbor because she thought the tree was on her property not ours (it was very close to the property line, but still on our side). Eventually we got rid of that thing because it was just too problematic.

I too have a similar experience with a blackberry bush, but I never wanted to actually pick the berries (a bush that fruits when it's 90+ temp and humidity that attracts wasps, I'll pass) so I didn't mind, it just made me laugh. We would come home and the odd 40 year old daughter living with her parents would dive back behind the bush thinking she was slick. Eventually had to get rid of it though, thing just kept spreading like a weed and was a pain to maintain.Comment

To me that is frightening man. I would classify her actions as larceny and I would file a police report. Get her tag and try to get her ID'd. That way you can move forward with prosecution. I would even purchase a sign to place in my yard notifying subjects I would prosecute for the larceny of the fruit.
It sounds stupid, but it's a safety risk IMO. Think about that lady who might know some guy who is a violent career criminal. Well she tells him about her hustle. Then he wants a piece and gets rid of the girl but knows where you live. Your wife is home alone and he's out there trying to steal the fruit. Then he sees your wife is home alone.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I hate it when every time an athlete excels beyond precedent at a particular skill, the immediate response of some people is to change the rules or alter the way the game is played to nullify it.
I was listening to Bill Simmons podcast the other day and he had Kirk Goldsberry on-who I have love for-suggesting that they need to move the 3 point line back even further.
I don't think it actually has to do with Curry though. Maybe his reasoning does but many people have suggested that before. The 3 point shot is getting out of control in the NBA. A lot of players don't even shoot it that efficiently and still chuck up shots like crazy. I think it could open up the game a bit more by moving it back some.Indianapolis Colts

It just feels like a sudden reaction to Curry's dominance much like the ban of the dunk in the NCAA was a reaction to Lew Alcindor's dominance.[NYK|DAL|VT]

That was more along the lines of his reasoning, in particular that it was killing the PF position and that good shooters like Curry would still make them at a high percentage, however, I don't see how moving it further back will make players not just try to further expand their range. He used Kevin Love taking nearly 6 threes a game as his primary example but I'd argue that that's more of a product of Cleveland's offense, wanting to spread the floor for LeBron and Kyrie drives.

I'd hope players would try and get a midrange j or try and get to the rim more than they would rather develop a deeper range lol. I'd say the former is easier than the latter, maybe, depending on the player obviously.
I hear you though, but I feel like I've heard discussions about this even before this season. Definitely seems more rampant this year... Cuban came out last week and proposed the idea too.Indianapolis Colts

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
This is a very real circumstance that could happen.
I've heard a couple of times around my area of kids going to play in a neighbor's pool, drowning and the parents suing the neighbor for negligence. Here's a quick except surrounding liability:
Backyard swimming pools, while fun, provide serious swimming pool liability. The homeowner can be held responsible for any injuries or deaths that take place in or around the pool, even if the victims were trespassing, scaled a fence to access it, or otherwise used it without the homeowner's permission. If you or your child has been injured in a neighbor's pool, they homeowner faces liability for the harm you or the child suffered. An personal injury attorney with experience in pool accident liability cases should be consulted before taking any legal or insurance related action.
I know it's a pool...but I'm sure a lawyer would apply this to your circumstance.Last edited by Speedy; 03-04-2016, 09:26 PM.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Phobia
That would piss me the hell off. Not gonna lie.
It's an invasion of your property. You can't stop it unless you cut the tree down.
But I'd follow ND's advice and get the cops involved.
In the meantime...id start selling them myself.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
F that about people going on my lawn and stealing my fruit. I would get a fence and get some Rotts or Pits to run around.
Granted, I did steal crab apples from the neighbors to have crab apple wars with other kids. Broke a couple windows in the process.Comment
