Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Some open box items really don't have anything wrong, it just depends on the people selling it and how honest they'd be when selling. Some can lie for a sale, others do the opposite. I got my tablet years back for at least 25% off because it was open box. They threw in a Bluetooth keyboard as a bonus. The guy said that it was fine, nothing was wrong except just having boxed opened up slightly. So I got a brand new tablet + keyboard for 25% the cost of just the tablet.
I've also seen customers try creating deals. They'd open a box, know the store will eventually discount it, and come back days later to buy that very box.

I've been really sick my entire vacation. Probably the worst illness I've ever had. The final day of it, I'm feeling better. So it now feels like I missed/wasted 2 whole weeks of what was supposed to be fun.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

How about Chevy? They're sitting around claiming they have real people and not actors in their commercials, yet they have people mic'ed up who never should have been to begin with if it was real.

This has persisted for well over a year. I'm not saying people don't lie on TV, but really couldn't they have done the same commercial without the blatant lie?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Those car commercials are pretty dumb. I always wonder where they get the dummies to seem all surprised and persuadable (or to actually give a crap about a particular make of car). There's literally no incentive to do it if not a paid actor or unless you really, really want to be on TV for like 4 seconds.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Ordering food online, and when you sign in to pay, it changes the store where the order is being placed.
Happened to me twice in the past week. Last week, I ordered a pizza at the place down the street, signed in and submitted my order. When I checked the e-mail, the order was placed at the store I apparently saved as my closest location, which is now all the way across town.
Same thing with my Taco Bell order this morning. Got there, my order wasn't in the system, checked the e-mail, it's the Taco Bell way on the other side of town.Boston Red Sox

When people throw out the “How can you not enjoy watching the best teams in the sport play each other every year? Is that the point of watching Sports” card whenever people mention they have fatigue from watching the same teams play every year.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Typing a post in the OT thread reminded me of one. When you go to a buffet and the buffet items aren't labeled. Might not be much of a problem for people with normal vision and smell, but I'm visually impaired and also have virtually no sense of smell so unless it's something really obvious, I don't know what the buffet selections are unless they're labeled.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Totally agree with this. I feel like people who say this either don't have a good concept of how sports fandom works, or are fans of one of the teams involved.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
It completely and totally baffles me that anyone wants to spend 1 second of their time watching any awards show at all. Ever. You're telling me you want to sit around and watch a bunch of vacuous idiots verbally fellate each other for 3 and half hours? You're better off beating yourself about the head with a tack hammer for that same duration of time. You wouldn't get any dumber.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I like the awards shows. I don't like how they use their acceptance speeches as a moment for them to speak about their values and beliefs though... unless that's what their film or character role was actually regarding and their part was an influence on exactly that.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
