The bonus package is these folks will also roll through stop signs, tailgate you to the point where you don't trust making a turn in front of them, not use any signals whatsoever, and speed unreasonably fast thru residential areas. Truly the best drivers.
Once they're pulled over, they get something like 5-10 days to fix it or be fined.
Terrible way to drive but I do love the song; anti-geargrinder lol

I was driving behind someone today and thought that one of my headlights was out and I got so annoyed that I would have to find time to but a new bulb and fix it. Then I realized it was a weird angle and my light was okay and felt so relieved.

Why would people flash them like their lights are on bright? It can't always be fixed immediately because unfortunately everyone really doesn't always have the money for a cheap bulb. I just replaced both headlights on my wife's car after she hit a deer and busted out the driver's side. We had to wait three days for them to come in the mail.

I've only ever experienced it once or twice in my life really. Years ago I had a bulb go out in my car so I stopped and bought one and while on the way home to fix it I was pulled over by a police officer. He says, "Did you know you have a headlight out?." I responded with "Yes, I just bought a bulb and I'm on my way home to fix it now." *shows bulb in passenger seat*

He still wrote me a ****ing ticket I had to waste my time and go get thrown out. I lost a half day of pay because I had to take time away from work to go.

I've got a lot of gear grinders about driving and a lot of them usually involve people driving 10mph under the speed limit on two lane roads or someone riding my back bumper to the point that I can't see their headlights, but one bulbers aint one of them. Don't get me started on the ridiculously bright and excessive HID lights though.

Not everyone knows they have a headlight out which is why it’s courteous to flash them.

I would just think everyone was being a dick and blinding me lol.

I guess I can see where it might help. I've flashed mine at someone when they have theirs off completely. I would definitely know it, especially driving so many county roads too.

I’ve done countless times when people don’t have their lights on at all. Majority of the time, they miss the signal completely.

I get mad at myself if I'm waiting for a sale and it takes so long I forget to check, so of course the week I forget to check is when the sale happens

Sorry, but if people can't afford a bulb, they have zero business driving their own car. Part of car ownership is having a realistic budget for maintenance.

I can understand if it's a special order and takes some time, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a type you can't pick up instantly at any variety of auto parts stores.

People flash for: (1) one or both headlights missing/off (2) cop nearby (3) not turning your brights off for the passing vehicle (4) hey buddy, it may be my right of way, but I am ceding it to you just to be safe.

If you are getting flashed repeatedly, it's almost certainly headlight related.

You sound like someone who has never struggled financially. Public transportation isn’t available to everyone. Where I’m from if you don’t have a vehicle you’re not working and vise versa. Man people fall on hard times, live literally paycheck to paycheck and a $15 light bulb doesn’t fit the budget.

I don’t want to make assumptions about you, but you’re living in fantasy land.

LOL. Driving with one headlight is not legal in the United States. Light bulbs are not expensive. People have to make it happen, man. Just like with anything else in life.

I'm not gonna make grandiose assumptions about your income level from a single post you made on OS, but me not being able to see you driving because you don't feel it's important enough to spend $15 on tells me a lot about your worldview.

Sometimes it has to wait until payday man. If you see that as an attack on your well being or can’t understand how a family can be in that positions I feel sorry for you. Do you see motorcycles on the road? I don’t get on soap boxes about much around here anymore, but there’s no way you’re encountering enough one bulb drivers that you feel you’re at a legitimate risk while driving.

the majority of police officers are just writing warnings for it. No one is getting hauled off to jail over a blown headlight bulb.

I guess this is just one of those agree to disagree things.
