Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
When you go out of your way to fill out an online customer survey for a business/whatever, "rate your wait time out of 10," etc, then at the end there's an unskippable part where they make you type out an actual comment. Well I guess you didn't want ANY of my input then. [emoji2369]
99% of times I ever do some sort of customer survey, it's ONLY because there's a chance at some reward/gift cards. Not that I go out of my way to do it, I'll do it occasionally if I am bored and realize a receipt or something I have might have that. Doesn't happen often though where I fill out anything. Either way, I don't care about filling out the survey, I just want to get through it fast so I can just enter the contestComment

Adding on to that, when you rate it any number and then there's a follow up question "explain why you gave it that rating".

Only time I do those surveys is if an employee is really helpful. Other than that I ignore them for the most part. Marco's usually gives a free cheesy bread if you fill one out thoughComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Wife and I pulled into one of our local breweries and as we were walking in some guy walks up to me and says “nice car, how much did that cost you? Who does that?

A lot of people do that I noticed. Or they will ask where you work at in order to afford something like that.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I've never asked someone how much but I have complimented people on their cars before.
Some examples:
Of all places pulled into a Target near here and parked right next to this beautiful green Jaguar. Think it was a F-Type.
Most expensive car I've seen in person randomly at a store was a white Bentley. Thing costs more than my house.Last edited by LambertandHam; 04-30-2023, 09:57 PM.Comment

I've also done it in conversation if somebody else mentions they got a new car. Color and cost are always two conversational questions to ask about it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I see nothing wrong with asking how much something is, as long as it's a friendly approach.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I think that can be summed up by saying that people are nosy. Doesn't matter what the topic is, people always seem to want to know stuff about other people, even when it has literally no impact on their lives at all.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
On one hand it's pretty weird to ask a stranger that
On the other if you are driving a flashy car then I wouldn't be upset when people take notice and ask about itComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I know it's the same answer, but the question is actually geared for myself rather than my judgment of them.
True. I suppose I missed the part that it was a stranger asking. I was thinking about a conversation between friends. But yes, when an out-of-the-ordinary vehicle comes along, it'll definitely strike someone's curiosity to ask such a thing.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Now there's this thing called No Mow May, where you're supposed to not mow in May to help bees and what not, plus use less gas.
Yeah, have fun with your mower choking out every 20 feet in June! I hate when they try to put regular everyday people through some hassle for the environment.Comment
