Stores understandably will have holidays affect their hours of operation, and they'll even say as much online as well... but they always seem to have a problem saying what those hours are, if they changed at all, or if they're even open. You're still left needing to call them in that situation.

When people want to emphasize something in a sentence and completely botch which word or phrase to highlight (either by capitalizing or italics). For example, just saw this one:

"Once you start the Logical Reasoning Test you will not be allowed TO stop the test". What purpose does capitalizing "TO" serves here? What am I missing here? Wasn't the easy choice to highlight "NOT"?

I literally took a diagnostic yesterday where a question asked whether I often notice grammatical or spelling mistakes in texts, then there was another question later that asked: "Is is difficult to pass on messages correctly?"

It was a test within a test, I say!

I've also seen those NO SMOKING signs with with the red circle and the slash through it. It feels like a double-negative, like maybe I can smoke.

You're not going to say it like that, are you?

                  Try it like this...

Front loading washers. The gaskets can get nasty and who knows what's growing under them then you clothes get dragged over it taking them out. Or when you start a cycle only to realize you dropped a sock on the floor, too late, doors locked, nothing you can do know but wait until the next time you do laundry to wash that sock.

Elevators where the buttons don't actually work to open/close door. Had such an awkward encounter today because of it.

I was in an elevator and while I got in and pressed the button for the floor I wanted, I saw someone else approach the elevator.

Since I saw them, I figured I'd press the door open button to hold it open for them so they could get in...except the button apparently doesn't work.

The button did nothing and the door just closes while I'm basically just staring at the person not get in the elevator, so now it looks like I'm pressing the button to close the door so they don't get in.

And of course, the floor I get off on is the exact same floor that same person gets off on about 30 seconds later. So now I just awkwardly walk past them hoping they didn't think I was trying to close the door on them.

I wouldnt worry about unless I went to a restaraunt later and saw they worked there, and were getting my food ready, lol. One of my biggest gripes is poor restaraunt service, but I never complain and send any food back. You never know what they're going to replace the original order with. Even if I order something like fish, and they bring me chicken, I'd rather eat the chicken than return it.

Absolutely hate front loading washers. Top loader significantly nicer. I don't mind having to bend in but my fiancee hates it and has me fish for the clothes at the bottom.

                                Continuity in tv shows/movies.

Some are great at it where even the big time fans might not realize it's a reference to something in the past because its so detailed, while others you can clearly tell people involved haven't actually watched the show.

Never realized how common it is for actors to not even watch themselves on tv/movies. So even though they've lived the scenes, they haven't consumed the product the way the fans do.

And I heard stories where even some writers just get brought in during a shows lifespan and at most they might be given a few episodes of the show to watch to get a feel for the characters but that's it.

Really makes you wonder in general how self aware the actors or writers/producers are of continuity. If an actor doesn't even understand references to certain things from a show/movie they're in, or a writer/producer doesn't remember continuity from past moments/seasons, it just seems like such a mess. Something so little can make such a big difference in the overall storytelling
