Re: Man shot in the back by cops, while on the ground
Without getting too nutty about this.
Of course, there are times when even guys resisting are easy to put down and cuff.
I'd say that not being able to handle a perp...even one resisting is a small percentage.
Regardless of whether you can cuff him or not....if he does resist...it's difficult.
Razr...I've also trained in Daito ryu for quite some time. Forget pressure points...you're lucky if you can keep a grip on him.
Like someone else said...if you do try this....please capture it...should make for excellent viewing!!
I hope we're all cool.
I'm just trying to put perspective in it.

I have learned that it doesn't even pay to try and explain/defend Law Enforcement on here. There are just certain people who have their minds made up before hand and trying to get them to even change their way of thinking is next to impossible.I post the frog

Re: Man shot in the back by cops, while on the ground
When you grow up and own a home, a car, have a wife, have kids...and then see and hear what absolute filth and evil roam the streets you can't help but appreciate what cops go through and what they do to keep you and your loved ones safe.
I'm not going to get into the debate but I am saddened for both the deceased and the officer (ex-officer after he resigned today). One lost his life and the others will never be the same. May God watch over both of them and their families.Last edited by McLite; 01-08-2009, 04:11 AM.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

the dumb part about all this is in like a month nobody will have a thought in there mind to be walking up to cops telling them shoot them.
this is just young people being ignorant...
atleast if your going to take a stand do what that skateboard kid did, and dont disrespect people to thier face.#SimnationComment

but the bottom line is, some people want to live in and perpetuate the stereotype, the stereotype becomes whats real. and the truth is the weird or strange thing.
The media eats this up though...#SimnationComment

And unfortunately the media does like to eat crap like that up, and explode it to a level that far outreaches what it actually was.Comment

Yeah we're cool. Half the stuff I posted before was exaggeration though because I got a little heated and I tend to exaggerate things when I do. So the stuff about 3 13 year olds wasn't serious but it still wouldn't be too hard to restrain a guy that's already on the ground with 3 people present. And if I ever do get the chance to try that test I'll definatly film it. Now where to get pepperspray and find someone that wants to get peppersprayed
and that's a big NEGATIVE on the pep or mace. NOT FUN.

Re: Man shot in the back by cops, while on the ground
Razr, I'll give you one advantage for your cuffing trial. One hand cannot hold onto someone's arm. They teach this to woman in self defense classes. Where the thumb and fingers meet when wrapped around someone's arm is the weakest point and it is physically impossible to hold onto the arm if you apply pressure with your arm there. Unless your hand is big enough to wrap around and over lap, you cannot hold on. A little tiny woman can easily break away from a 200+ lbs body builder.
Unless a suspect is cuffed, they are not subdued. Yeah the guy shouldn't have been shot, but that wouldn't have happened if he didn't fight it to begin with.Comment

Re: Man shot in the back by cops, while on the ground
It's like arguing with a stop sign isn't it? It used to really piss me off but then I realize OS is just the outspoken few, not the silent majority. As I said in the other post 90% of the public respect and appreciate cops, and can fully understand what it would be like if there were no police in the United States. The ones that hate the police are usually the ones committing the crimes.

Some people just don't want to know what kind of dirt bags walk on the same streets, eat at the same restaurants, and even go to the same churches as they do. Ignorance is bliss - Until it gets you harmed or killed.I post the frog
