The taste on it is quite intense at first. I was actually struggling with it after the first few sips. Right away I knew that this single 12oz. beer was going to send me on a ride. The smell is very potent. Extremely hoppy with a slight hint of fruity goodness with each sip I took. Although I did enjoy the beer, it would be a challenge for me to consume multiple ones. I think 2 would be the perfect number for me. As soon as I finished it I felt as if I had been drinking for hours. Definitely worth the $10 price tag and if my local beer guy still has some (which is highly doubtful as it usually sells out within days) I will purchase another. If you are only going to drink 1 beer tonight, make sure it is the 120 Minute IPA.

I picked up two Chimay gift sets the other night. Each one came with one bottle each of all three of their brews (Blue, Red, White) and a glass Chimay chalice.

The White was good, but hardly better than La Fin Du Monde. In fact, it was so similar to that it was hard for me to have a fresh perspective.

The Red was better than the White and had a lot more flavor to it. One of the best smelling beers I have ever had also.

The Blue was indescribable. One of the best beers I have ever had. I will continue to buy this one for a long time.

Great choice. I credit Chimay Bleu (along with Augustiner Helles, which is unfortunately very difficult to find outside Germany) with opening my eyes to how good beer can be.

Not an alcoholic beer, but I'm sipping on this JCS "Reggae Country Style" Ginger Beer, and it's freakin great. Nice fairly sweet first note with a lingering spicy ginger finish that hangs in the back of your throat. Got it at my specialty food store, don't know where it's sold really... first time I've seen it.

Anyone else like ginger beer? I've tried Stewart's (surprisingly enough since it's a mainstream brand, the strongest "spice" to it, very good) and Reed's Extra Ginger Beer, but I like this one the best so far... good mix between the two.

I've never tried Red Horse before but I will be on the lookout for it. I really enjoy the San Miguel Philippine beers like the regular one and the dark lager.

Had some Shipyard Pumpkin Ale last night and it was sooooooo good.

Also had some Kingfisher Lager, also a very good brew.

What do you guys think is the better beer between these ones... Heineken, Coors Light, Corona Light, Budweiser?

Sorry, the 'Another Crappy Tasting Beer Thread' is a few pages back.

In all seriousness, back in college when I wanted to get trashed, i'd go to Coors. None of them are 'better' though IMO. If you want to go with something from one of those companies, i'd say try the Bud Light Golden Wheat, which isn't half bad.

                          Pretty bad choices there.

On a good note, just got Bell's beers in Birmingham. The Two Hearted Ale is so damn good.

Corona Light is not bad for a 90 calorie beer.

Wow, finally bought and drank the Dogfish Head 120-Minute IPA last night ($10 for a single 12 oz. bottle). Good lord, what a unique beer. So hoppy tasting but completely not bitter at all... had an almost cloying sweetness to it due to all the unfermented sugars left in it. There's no way that a person can sit down and drink 2 of these in a row without trying -- it's almost like drinking liquor, both in the mouthfeel and ABV-wise.

Beautiful beer, but I'd definitely stick to the 90-Minute IPA or even a barley wine when I want a super hops kick. The price alone is enough to keep me from going back to it often, but I tend to like beers that I can drink at least 2 of without feeling like it's a chore. It was great to sip all night (I literally drank it for like 3 hours after polishing off a Great Divide Hades earlier in the evening), but even if someone offered me a 2nd for free, I'd probably have to pass on it at that point (I was kinda drunk too haha). The aroma isn't quite as pleasing to me as the 90-Minute or even the Odell IPA, but it was still very nice. The flavors were great... don't think I've ever tasted anything to hoppy without the corresponding bitterness. Just a crazy-weird-awesome beer. I'll edit pics into this when I get home.
