Oh I am. I strained my calf on day 5 of last week, so the time off probably helped me to not agravate it anymore. I am in the middle of phase 2 so I know I can hope back on.

Re: P90X
I think the whole purpose is to tailor it to your needs. I follow the diet pretty closely, and because I slowly begin lose my appetite, by week 3, I'm only eating around 1200 calories a day (even with the drink). Because I'm in worse shape than last time, I'm going to do P90X + 7. First week, I'm going to hold off on the diet, but still eat healthy (meaning fruits, salads, salmon/chicken), but not worry about calories (try for a meal every 2 hours like the Body for Life suggests). After the 1st week, I'll start watching my calorie intake.Comment

Re: P90X
This is the hardest part for me. I'm so used to having taste with what I drink. I tend to make a lot of KoolAid, Tea, and now I've added flavored water with Splenda (just stocked up yesterday). Cutting my coke intake is the hardest thing. I swear I crave the carbonated feeling when I drink just as much as the taste.
Like me for instance. I went to Jazzfest in New Orleans this weekend. I ate some pizza, drank a few jack and cokes, and ate a huge thing of pancakes and maple syrup.
But it is fine, because I bust my butt everyday eating right and working out. So couple days this weekend I went and had a blast. I 100% think this is something anyone with realistic goals should do. Not "cheat" every weekend of course. But also enjoy things too.Comment

Re: P90X
Have you read the body for life book? They advocate 6 to 7 small meals a day for 6 days a week, and 1 day a week you get to take a break and eat what you want. You're not supposed to go crazy, but your supposed to eat what you want in reasonable portions. It couples weight lifting, aerobic exercise in conjunction with the diet.Comment

Whew. After 10 days of not doing anything and drinking a lot, that was my easiest workout ever. Threw up more reps then the previous two sessions.Comment

Re: P90X
Got my P90X in the mail today. I'm going out of town to a family reunion this weekend, so I plan to start on Monday morning.
I'm not too worried about actually getting motivated to do the exercises, what I'm most worried about is hurting my shoulder and it keeping me from playing golf. I have some shoulder issues that flare up every once in while and I'm really hoping strengthening the shoulder will help in long run.PSN: Koolie_G

Re: P90X
The non motivation part comes further down the road believe me. I am in like week 8 and just don't feel like doing it somedays. I haven't even done Kenpo in probably 5 weeks, I play golf insteadI just make sure to never miss anything that will make my arms bigger.
Should tip. If it hurts, don't do that exercise. I am in phase 2 and there is a day for Shoulders, Back, Triceps. One of the shoulder workouts just make my shoulder hurt bad so I skip it.
My advice is to just plan on adding a week to each phase. The book says adding weeks is ok as long as each phase doesn't go over 6. It kind of gives you some leeway if you know you might miss some days.Comment

Re: P90X
I got up and did the first workout at 6am this morning. I guess that is the first step. I feel pretty good, but I know my arms and chest will be sore tonight/tomorrow.
I didn't do the last set of pull ups as my shoulder started to twinge a little. I was able to finish the all the push-ups without a shoulder problem. I didn't try to overdo it this morning. Just doing any type of workout just makes me feel better about myself after doing nothing for such a long period. Plyometrics tomorrow and that will be a real killer for me. Chest and arm strength has never been a problem, but plyo is gonna be rough.PSN: Koolie_G

Everyone in the videos are short, but yeah I'm guessing Tony is about 5'8.
I think the black dude w. the long dreads (who looks kinda tall in P90X) is in one of the Insanity videos and he looks short as hell."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: P90X
Yeah, short people, sheesh. Oh wait, I'm short. Short people are cool. Anyway, completed day 2 this morning. Feeling a little sore from yesterday and my legs are definitely tired from this morning's workout. I went to the grocery last night and picked up some good stuff. If you guys have any "go to" dishes that are pretty basic and quick, I'd love to see them. I'll probably eat mostly chicken, tuna, and maybe some lean beef, or ground turkey. Vegetables is where I will struggle the most, so I bought some V-8 fusion so I could get veggies in my diet.PSN: Koolie_G

Re: P90X
I am still going strong on day 10. I hurt my hip on Saturday during the legs workout, so I took off on Sunday, which was a potential rest day anyway. I did the chest and Back on Monday, skipped Plyo yesterday because I was afraid of re-injuring my hip, and did arms and shoulders today and modified the heck out of the Ab Ripper. The hip injury just won't let me do many of those ab exercises. I definitely won't do Yoga tomorrow, so if my hip is feeling better I will do cardio or stretch.
I may have to tone down all leg workouts for a week or so to make sure the hip is back to normal. A little rest is really all it needs b/c I think it is a strain of the flexor and it's not the first time I've done it. Anyway, just checking in here to see if everyone else is still Bringing It.PSN: Koolie_G

Re: P90X
Im on day 2 of my second week. It sucks, but it isn't undoable. I don't like traditional weightlifting or cardio so being able to do this, especially from home is working for me. Pylo tonight.Comment
