i know right? thing is i have t2 diabetes so i already eat extremely healthy, just all the time. i eat like 8 small meals a day. also eat a lot of protein to make up for not being able to handle all the carbs. i am very pleased with the results though, look like a damn poor man's bodybuilder. and it kept my cardio and fitness level up so i am happy. i highly recommend it, just not to anyone with joint issues. i am going to do insanity the asylum next (it is only 30 days) then jump on some p90x/insanity/asylum hybrid workouts. be safe training...

Re: Insanity
And holy crap, I see Saturday is a combo of pure cardio AND cardio abs. Jeez, I don't know how i'm supposed to complete another workout AFTER pure cardio. Are you supposed to do the whole pure cardio DVD, cooldown included, and THEN cardio abs? Or do I just skip from the end of the actual workout on pure cardio right to cardio abs?

Re: Insanity
I was wondering this too. Seems crazy! I wonder how long the cardio abs workout is?
Lol I like that poor man's bodybuilder is pretty much what I'm going for at this stage.

Re: Insanity
I purchased this back in the winter but I never got in a good routine of consistently doing it. So far so good. I started again last week and finished day 2 of week 2 today which some of you did. Pure cardio is just pure hell.
I got up to 191 and want to get back down to 175 which should be possible considering I lost 4lbs last week. I just want to shed this extra weight and just get in shape again.Comment

Re: Insanity
Alright guys.
Starting this in the next couple days.
Couple questions before I start.
With the videos, do they stretch or warm you up before doing the exercises?
Or do you have to stretch before hand on your own, before even putting the dvds in.
After reading what you guys have said about the diet, I dont want to lose weight, so just keep the calorie intake up right?

Re: Insanity
There is a 12-15 minute warmup and stretch in each video. They actual workout segment isn't that long which is awesome, anywhere from 14 minutes to 22 IIRC in the first month. Re: Insanity
Just finished plyo cardio for the day. I sweat so much more today, as it's like 80 degrees inside the house. Feels good sweating so much though. Means it's workingComment

Re: Insanity
Basically. By the time I hit the stretches, i'm already dripping sweat. Gotta say though, although the actual circuits themselves only last 15 or so minutes, it feels like 2 hours. Shawn T pounds you into the ground with these to the breaking point. As he says, ya gotta dig deep and keep going. Keep that sweat rolling.

Plyo cardio to me is just as hard as pure cardio. Really there have been no easy workouts in the first week and a half. The level 2 drills are straight *** kickers.Comment

Re: Insanity
I agree with the warm ups, I get a pretty good sweat going into the 3rd rep of the warm ups. Once I get going into the warmups I am soaking wet with sweat. I do all of my workouts down in my basement where it is actually pretty cool.

I'm nervous about Friday. It's the first day with both pure cardio and cardio abs. I had my coach (close friend who finished Insanity with GREAT results) recommend cardio abs BEFORE pure cardio. I might try that.Comment

Re: Insanity
Interesting stuff, I might have to try that as well.
I need to double up to catch up so I'm going to do Plyo cardio followed by the cardio recovery tomorrow because the recovery isn't as hard as the others.
For me the workouts actually go by pretty quick. I mean once you have warmed up and stretched you are often half way through the workout then you have your REALLY intense bit in the middle then it's pretty much time to stretch and cool down again. It's a breathe of fresh air compared to the p90x workouts which did seem to drag on a bit long at times.Last edited by Jonesy; 07-06-2011, 08:39 PM.Comment

Re: Insanity
63 days and done...well kinda. After not missing a workout for 57 straight days I got real screwed up this last week and missed two workouts and didn't do my last Fit Test.
Needless to say I'm happy with what happened. I'm not a ripped Sean T but I did lose 14 pounds and and took 2.5" off my waist. The biggest change I saw was my thighs which gained almost 2". I did lose a little off my chest and biceps which is understandable.
So my plan...start over Month 1/Day 1 tomorrow with the Fit Test. I'm also going to do some curls/pull-ups at the end of working out on Day 1 of each week and Recovery Day.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

Just got done with the Fit Test a little while ago. Never thought a "fit test" could be so difficult lol. This will be a challenge.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II
