Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

Went to the gym again to day on my lunch break and my legs don't really hurt from running on the treadmill anymore.

I wasn't going for speed or anything (because I walked at a speed of 3 for the first 5 mins) but, I was able to do two miles in 27:32. Which is about a 4-5 minute improvement on my time from last week.

Nice man! You'll be doing half mara's in no time.

I was up 5am this morning, sugar free V down the throat and into the gym. I did shoulders today:

      Overhead DB press x 4
      Front Lateral Raise x 4
      Side lateral raise x 4

I had to leave for work at 6.45am this morning so i didn't have time for cardio this morning, will hit it this afternoon instead.

I'm staying with my in-laws tonight so they'll be cooking dinner, Will try to keep it as healthy as possible.

      Diet today is the same:

1 cup oats, 1 cup lf milk, 1 scoop protein powder

Lunch is chicken breast, veges and 1 cup of brown rice.

Skipping the afternoon shake to have a few extra cals up my sleeve incase my mother in law cooks up something delicious like she usually does.

As you can see i kinda get a bit robotic with my food and workout's. It's not for everyone but works for me. Really feeling great at the moment, a lot more energy than i used to and feel like i can sustain this forever now that it's become a habit / ritual.

I went back to the gym tonight after work and did another 3 miles. It took me 45 mins but I walked the last mile.

I was up at 5.30am this morning at my in-laws place and did 50 mins cardio (just fast walking listening to some podcasts). Skipped breakfast this morning because i was running a bit late but i have some fruit here at the office and already have my chicken, rice and vege's ready for later.

Robotic isn't bad if you don't mind it....my co-worker was on a hardcore food plan where he was trying to eat lots of protein and whatnot. It got boring, but he'd eat the same exact stuff every day almost...

I only do it Mon-Fri then indulge and have heaps more variety on the weekend. Kinda makes it easier with my busy work schedule so i just prep it all sunday night (cook 5 chicken breasts, 5 cups of brown rice, 5 cups of veges) so it's ready to go each day sitting there in microwavable containers.

Small update, haven't been doing much workin out lately with the way work and family's been lately. But I've been keeping an eye on my eating/drinking habits and haven't gained anything. Should be back in the gym after this week.

I've taken a break from dieting but I'm about to get back on. I'm still down weight since my last post, but only a pound. I'm sitting at 316.8 today. Down 43.2 since May.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

Nice work guys. It can be hard keeping the diet and exercise up but the benefits far outweigh the negatives imo.

Up at 5am this morning, chugged the sugar free V and into the gym.

                    Today was triceps + abs

                    Tricep pushdown x 4
Tri kickback x 4 each side
OH dumbbell tri extension x 4

4 x 25 old school situps. Does anyone else find old school situps (where you bring your head all the way up to your knee's) seem to do way more for me than just plain old crunches? I can do crunches until the cows come home and while i do feel a burn it's nothing when compared to 25 full form situps. Seems like more of a total core workout then just the abs?

After the weight session i went running with the dog and did 5km's in roughly 28 mins. Would have been quicker if my **** machine dog didn't keep dropping landmines every 10 minutes.

Breakfast: protein shake consisting of 1/2 frozen banana, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 cup cold water, 1 cup lite milk.

lunch: Chicken breast, 1 cup rice, 1 cup veges.

I'm only eating light during the day today because i've got some friends coming over for beer and pizza tonight (friday here woot!).

                    Keep kicking *** fella's!

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

Wanted to post that I lost 90 pounds over the last two summers (60 last year, 30 this year) just by running and keeping a strict diet...very simple. I started out at 350 pounds and I'm at 260. Haven't done much lifting as I was never one to commit to a strict workout regimen (even while playing football in High School), but I'm feeling a lot better about my body image right now although I feel that there's still a few minor things I have to work on.

Strange thing is, other people notice it immediately but I can't seem to tell the difference unless I'm watching old videos or photos of myself. Probably because I'm the dude who's staring himself down in the mirror every morning. It's been a great experience and I've worked extremely hard to get to this point, so I have absolute zero to complain about.

EDIT: I think it may be a good time to consider supporting OS in order to change my user name, come to think of it. I seem to be carrying less weight than before...

That.. is.. AWESOME. 90 flippin pounds?? I mean wow. Congrats and keep it up.

I'm headin in to gym tomorrow for the first time in about 2 weeks. Same here just cardio. Keep up the incredible work..

And I hope you support. Not just for the name change (which I guess now would be fitting for you) but out of respect for OS...You could also buy a shirt for your running sessions and become a supporter that way too!!

Yeah CTW you need to change that username man. Awesome work!

I had friends from out of town visiting last night so i decided to use it for my 'cheat night' for the first time in a few weeks. I had 5 beers, 4 slices of pizza and a Canadian club whisky. I tell you my stomach hasn't been right all the next day. I guess it's gotten used to chicken, brown rice and broccoli and is letting me know it doesn't approve.

I just finished a great chest workout while my daughter is taking her midday nap, all my lifts are progressing nicely. There is great park about 25 minutes work from my house so i'll take my daughter there this afternoon so that should be a decent cardio workout for the day.

                          Food for today is:

Late breakfast: 3 eggs, some turkey slices, 1 piece of toast with no butter.

Lunch: just a protein shake around 2pm which includes the usual (banana, LF milk, 1/2 frozen banana and some cold water)

Dinner: I'm home alone tonight so probably just something simple like a toasted avocado, left over lamb and LF cheese sandwich or something like that.

Unfortunately the only similarities i have with a workhorse is a big ***.

I hit bi's, abs + 50 mins cardio yesterday. I did some "weightloss" program on the treadmill that basically consisted of going to the steepest incline then appearing to stay there for ages while i sweated my *** off. Good workout.

I was swapping over some number plates in my garage yesterday afternoon (got personalized plates as a gift) and while i was putting away some tools I managed to smash my elbow into this metal spike that was sticking out from my hot water system. The whole arm went numb and it hurt for the rest of the day. I iced it but when i woke up this morning it was all swollen and bruised and i could barely bend it. Looks like i might have to lay off the weights for a week or so while it heals so i'll be doing cardio only until then.
