He said to not worry about eating too much fruit basically.

As for me, I loved adding in a banana, ice chips, some 1% milk, 2 scoops of protein powder, 2 scoops of natural peanut butter, then some real unsalted nuts for texture. Man that's a good smoothie!
It is still a lot of sugar though ODogg.I know it is "better" sugar than processed sugar but it is still a high dose of sugar to intake.

My grandma was saying that a lot to me for eating the fruit is why i said that to my doctor DC, and like i said, he said that unless you're diabetic it means nothing really. I mean obviously you don't want to be eating fruit at every single meal and for every snack, but just for a smoothie you should be putting in whatever fruit you want.

lol..I used to have a pair in the mid 80's. I think those glasses were 90% of the reason why I remained a virgin through that decade.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I'm starting again on the weight loss journey and joining the thread.

I might throw out suggestions, but don't take it as gospel.

I became upset because I gained 8 lbs since last seeing my doctor.

I've lost over 3lbs since Monday. I'm eating about 1500 calories/day and working out hopefully 6 days/wk. Last night I did about 20 minutes of lower body work(lunges, etc...) after 32 minutes on the treadmill.

This morning I had Egg Fu Young for breakfast. Cabbage, carrots, scallions, mushrooms, 4 oz of chicken and garlic cooked with 6 egg whites plus 1 with yolk. Put some low sodium soy sauce on(didn't have any so used a low sugar bbq sauce with salsa) and yummy for the tummy. Also, had a slice of Ekzeziel (sp) with no sugar jelly and 8 oz skim milk.

The Egg Fu Young was 140 calories, the slice of bread 80 and the jelly 10. Plus, 1 glass of 1% milk. Close to 300 calories for breakfast.

Strawberry protein smoothie coming up and 34 minutes on the treadmill with an upper body workout today sometime.

I know DC, I'm a creature of bad habits.

Your right, I need to try to ween myself off the scales every morning. It's something I'll work on.

The scale NEVER lies.

It will keep you in check and let you know if you just had a cheeseburger on a day you shouldn't have.

I think people are afraid of the scale because it's too honest, it hurts.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I prefer the scale due to the fact that I think if you don't check it you will get in more trouble than you do. Well for me anyways. I know some people can get discouraged by it (and I do as well but never to the point i'd quit) but for me when I don't check it I tend to cheat more and work less because I don't have anything to answer to.

I won't say the scale never lies, it seems it likes to f*** with you every now and then but the bottom line is it's like a good friend who is sometimes an @ss, he may act like an @ss sometimes but he ultimately has your back.

So for lunch I had:

1 half piece alaskan cod (60)
1 piece of snack cheese (60)
1/2 helping pasta salad with cauliflower & broccoli (70)
5 strawberries (40)
15 mini-carrot sticks (20)
Motts sugar free Granny Smith applesauce (80)
1 banana (80)
TOTAL CALORIES: 410

For the day: 830

Btw - I'm not actually eating all of the above at once for lunch, that includes stuff i brought to my desk to snack on until dinner, like the carrot sticks and the banana.

I wish it did.

Here's my issue with my nasty habit. I worked out this January through March 4-6 days per week and watched what I ate. I always flucuated 5 pounds up and down. After three months of sweat and watching what I ate, I didn't set foot into the gym for another month and I went off course with my eating.

The scales can have a negative impact on you as well.

See for me the scale works this way:

I step on scale in the morning, i'm up by a pound or two : I work harder in the gym that day because now i'm pissed.
I step on scale in the morning, i'm down a pound or two: I work harder in the gym because I have saw results.

So for me it's a positive thing. I do think many people can feel the scale is a bully though and get discouraged. It really just depends upon how you interpret the results.

btw - i weighed in at the gym today and exact same weight as last week, so I was so enraged i just went crazy on the equipment:

treadmill for 10 minutes @ 124 calories
bike for 21 minutes @ 246 calories
elliptical for 23 minutes @ 300 calories

Total Calories burned: 670 calories

Man my shirt was drenched..and I was exhausted. If I go down on tomorrow's gym weigh-in like a punk, it ain't gonna be for lack of trying!

Completely agree. The scale will affect you psychologically if you let it. I just refuse to get beat by the scale. So if it's showing me a result I don't want, I do something to change the result immediately. It's not for everyone. I have OCD though, so I force myself to push and push and get the best of the scale....when I'm focused that is.
