Bigfoot, I'm just completing 5 weeks of it and really am a subscriber to it. Just in this week I'm really seeing progress in my tone and shape. My gut still needs work, but I'm getting there.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I have some bone and joint issues that make it impossible for me to move like they are. I'm not gonna give up on it, but I am going to talk to a Yoga instructor and see what modifications she might suggest. Anyway, I just did the Cardio X workout instead of yoga.

I was really sore last night, so I decided I would take today off (I may workout tonight since I feel pretty good right now) to let my body rest and recover a little. Then I'll either use this as my recovery day or just make my first week 8 days instead. As long as I am following the diet, I don't see a huge problem with taking a day off here or there.

Also, I hate veggies, so I have been drinking V8 Fusion Light, to help get my veggie needs. It tastes more like fruit than veggies, so I can handle it. Hope that helps a little. I would caution you about weighing everyday. I don't think they suggest it and it seems like it would be better to do about once a week if you are really concerned about the weight loss. I probably won't weigh myself at all.
I may try the V-8 fusion, because the regular V-8 I am drinking right now is horrible. I know about the weighing. I weigh everyday more because I just got a scale and am interested. Usually it is just out of interest. My closest thing to a weight goal is under 200 bc I am 6'5", and I have been weighing in around that. I really don't care about my weight as long as I look better and feel better at the end of it.

I am about to do the Yoga X for the first time, in like 30 or 45 min, and I'll let you know how it goes. Luckily I have been warned by a friend not to look it over, as he swore it was the hardest workout of them all. And the day off shouldn't do any harm, esp if you are following the diet.

And thanks, DaveDQ. Nice to know that it is not only possible to get there but worthwhile too. Keep it up man!

I don't really follow this thread, but I can tell you that V-8 fusion tastes much better than regular V-8. Some flavors have a weird after-taste but after you try a few I'm sure you could find a flavor that you like. I could never get into the normal kind but I always have some of this at my house.

make sure you get the fusion LIGHT.

well i hardly ate much of anything yesterday. was sort of sick. this morning i had an egg w/ham and 1 slice of lowfat cheese with a couple of leftover dinner rolls (like mini sandwiches) and a banana. So about 400 calories for breakfast. For lunch I had a "Simply Asian" bowl of ginger noodles for 420 calories. So that means i'm at about 820 calories for the day.

I'm still not feeling all that well and haven't worked out yet. I'm thinking of just going home early today and seeing if my g/f will come over and watch House with me.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

That's right, almost forgot it was House night, and I'll look out for the Light Fusion. I'd call the girl over to watch House personally :-) Hopefully you get to feeling better.

So I am pretty much done with a week of the p90x. I have the option of a rest day or doing "Stretch X." In the book it says it is mostly for injury prevention and since I am only 21 and don't have any joint/muscle problems I am leading towards going with a Rest day.

The workouts have been difficult. Upper body strength is my major weakness, so an hour of straight pullups and pushups has killed me. For most of them I had to use a chair as support for pullups and do pushups from the knees. For arms, until I move back to my dad's in about a month and can use his full dumbells set I have to use resistance bands which are much easier. Hopefully I will work my way up to being able to fully doing the program. The Ab Ripper X is killer too. It is 18 minutes of straight core exercises done directly after strength workouts 3 times a week. Again, I am hoping to work my way up to being able to fully complete it. The cardio based workouts weren't horrible, except that I may have been more exhausted than I have ever been after the pylometrics X, which was an hour of jumping and squat sets. Also Yoga X was far more difficult for me than I expected, those people can do some insane things with their bodies.

For the diet, I think I have been doing a pretty good job. Haven't cheated aside from an occasional light beer or liquor only drink, with diet as a mixer if anything. However if I knew I would have a drink that night I budgeted the calories from somewhere else. If anything I am not eating enough protein and vegetables. They want 7-9 servings of protein a day and I'm not sure if I am getting there. I am getting as close as I can though. I really miss bread and cheese more than anything, but I am eating pretty well without.

Basically, I feel good about my diet and am feeling a bit stronger in posture and in day to day life after only a week. I just weighed myself and am at 200.4 lbs but I have varied between 200 and 208 depending on when I step on the scale.

Just remember BF999 it gets easier. Never easy but def easier and the soreness will slowly decrease as well.

When i first started i was flat out doing 10 proper pushups (i was coming off an injury and was very weak). By week 10 i did 136 proper pushups in the chest workout.

Even though it has been a few months since i have finished the program and have been a bit lazy i am still much stronger than i was when i started. I just did 100 pushups in my workout the other day.

Weighed in at 342.8 this morning. Down 4 pounds from my last Tuesday weigh in and roughly 15 total. Slipped up a few meals this past week with some pizza but limited to two slices. Lots of relatives visiting and what not. Back on today, will have some oatmeal for breakfast and a lean cuisine for lunch.

I hope to see 330's sometime next week, that'd be awesome.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I weighed in at 253 this morning so no real change here for good or bad. Last night I made salad with chicken for my girlfriend and I so I came in under 1500 calories no doubt. I left work early and blew off fat club for a change of routine. I also did NOT go to the gym as I didn't feel well. I still will get 4 workouts in this week though.

This morning I had cheerios with 1% milk and a piece of wheat toast with a slice of ham and lowfat cheese. So a total of 290 calories for me so far today. I got a banana for a snack here a little later.

My wife and I started the 30 day shred last week. Only got around to doing it twice, though. It's ok but I messed up my back doing something wrong...

Sorry I haven't been checking in, guys. I did a lot of outside work and moving TVs around and building the new TV stand so that apparently helped a lot yesterday with the fact that I didn't take a lot of calories in, resulting in a 273.8 on the scale. Feeling pretty good about that. Hopefully things keep trending that way.

I had turkey pizza with salsa and a side salad for dinner last night. Finished the day at 1500 calories. This morning I had two pieces of some chicken breast w/whole wheat toast w/butter and some watermelon (400 calories). I have a banana I will snack on later. I am up 1 pound this week! I think it's because my exercise routine has not been as up to par as usual..

Welcome back JazzyJ! Keep checking in when you can and keep hitting that scale..
