Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I'm about 165 lbs. (I'm about 6 ft. tall). I used to weight 175 lbs., but mysteriously back in Fall 2009 I lost about 15 lbs. in a month to drop to 160 lbs. I did stop eating nightly Pop Tarts around this time, so I figure that had a lot to do with it in retrospect. Anyways, I've gained some of the weight back since, but I'm still right around 165 lbs., which is fine by me.

Of course, I should note that I'm 17 years, 11 months old, so I don't expect to weigh this little when I'm 25.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I just got back from a trip to RI for a week. I did ok with eating but only worked out once while I was there. I am having a hard time getting back into it now that I'm home.

The good thing is I weighed myself in RI and I'm at 215lbs. When I started running I was at 235.

Well I weighed in Thursday and had gained 4 pounds!! So back to 255 now. I've got to get back into the right mindset again. I plan to grill some salmon steaks tonight or tomorrow along with some other stuff. Holidays are tough. My goal is just to get back to 251 by next Friday.

My wife and I are trying to shed a few pounds and the hardest thing for us is cutting out the Pepsi. We always have it in the house. We've gone a complete week without it. We've substituted it with water. I'm not a big fan of water but you just get used to it.

When we go grocery shopping or to the mall we no longer look for a parking spot right at the front of the store. We park at the very end and get a little walk out of it. The key is to keep active.

Yeah liquid sugar is a killer. Usually I recommend people just go easy on stuff that's 'bad' and don't eliminate it, but in the case of drinking regular pop like Pepsi or Coke I 100% think it's important to completely cease to drink it at all.

It's good you got a partner that supports you. My girlfriend will roll with me on things but she's also very easy to give in if I choose something bad, heh. So I have no one but myself to blame really if I don't eat healthy but it does actually make it easier if I say "Want to order a pizza?" and someone validates that for me by saying "yeah, that sounds great!"..

            Still working on that btw..

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I worked out good this morning with some bicep and chest work. Feeling good after I had almost two weeks of stagnation. A big challenge is maintaining my workouts and eating habits when my normal schedule gets disrupted. This morning was a make or brake morning for me.

I had to do something or I would be on the verge of losing some serious progress.

Same here DaveDQ. I've gained back about 5 pounds of the 30 I lost since the start of the year. Doing a fast on Thursday to try to regain my control. Now that the 3 day weekends are over for a while though maybe I can get back on track.

Yeah i've been slack lately too. Eating too much crap and not exercising enough.

I usually get up early to work out but i just haven't been able to drag myself out of bed recently so i think i'm going to start doing my workouts at night once my daughter goes to bed.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I weighed in at the gym yesterday (had a great 50 minute elliptical workout btw!) and actually, somehow lost 1 pound over the 3 day holiday weekend.

Had a turkey sausage on wheat w/ketchup and mustard (300) and a banana (80) for breakfast. Today I have some salmon, rice w/mushrooms and peas with watermelon for lunch.

I wonder if, from the silence, we have some people who are still not back on the horse?

                          Keep at it.

I feel like I'm in a high turbulent plane, trying to steady it. It has been so hard to stay consistent this week. I forced myself out the door tonight to run 3 miles, but I need to be more focused.

Hey Boys... long time listener, first time caller...

Just wanted to check in and give all of you guys a hand and tell you to keep after it. I just finished a pretty intense 15 week training regiment to finally put a 4 year battle to bed. In the last 15 weeks, I dropped 64 pounds and actually now sit about 12 pounds below my goal weight. That's over 150 pounds lost since June of 2006. Next step is trying to put about 8-10 pounds of muscle back on.

Anyway, speaking from experience.... it can be done.... keep after it!

Good luck to all of you!
