My gym is in the local mall. Right outside the door is the friggin food kiosk. I can't tell you how many people walk out the gym and then sit down and eat pizza and drink slushies. Why the hell did you just bother working out?

The worst is when you have to burp after taking a cod liver oil pill. Sick!

LiverPool - I think they figure they worked out so now they are entitled to it. But I think it's silly like you, it just ruins what they did.

As for me I enjoy eating canned sardines, they look crazy but I like the way they taste.

This morning I had wheat toast with butter and a glass of low cal orange juice.

I tried sugar free syrup on low fat Eggo's and it was nasty! I think I'm going to go to 50% less sugar syrup, the sugar free stuff tasted like syrup flavor water.

Most products out there that have a version that is Low Fat, no fat, less sugar, etc, I can't stand. The taste and consistency of the other varieties are gross for the most part. For example, Philadelphia cream cheese. If it is not the original I don't want it. In my opinion, I don't need to use these "Fat Free" versions as long as I just monitor how much I consume of the regular stuff.

I don't mind a lot of the healthier variations of products, and I have had reduced sugar syrup and enjoyed it, but sugar free is..yuck! I agree with cream cheese, although the Dunkin Donuts low fat Strawberry is pretty good!

I go for the in-between on stuff. Like 1% milk. You can get skim or vitamin D but 1% is a sweet spot. Ditto for cheese. Lower fat cheese isn't bad but non-fat cheese is awful. Or peanuts. Regular is too salty. No salt is just disgusting. Get lightly salted. That's how I roll...

That's how i do it too. The ultra light stuff tastes like **** but the mid level stuff still has taste but less cals. I do find that after drinking light or 1% milk for so long regular full fat milk tastes almost too rich like i'm drinking a cup of thickened cream or something.

I somehow managed to put on 2 lbs this week despite a flawless diet, no booze and plenty of working out. I'm not sweating it too much because i did end up doing 3 intense weight sessions and seeing as i'm getting back into lifting after a bit of break i could be muscle and fat who knows. Just trying to keep an eye on the overall trend rather than stressing over the number on the scale every day.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I'll bump this thread back up. Official weigh in this morning was 333.8, down 2 lbs from last week, and down 24 lbs officially since my start.

The wife and I made an awesome dinner last night. It was a chicken and broccoli pasta dish with light Alfredo sauce. We added 1 light laughing cow cheese to each serving of the light Alfredo to thicken it up and add some more flavor. The chicken was marinated in Fat Free Zesty Italian dressing, seasoned, and grilled. The pasta was that Rizoni smart style? rigatoni pasta which is less calories than normal. The broccoli was one steam fresh bag, 1/2 added to each bowl. Super filling dish and very enjoyable to eat. It clocked out at 9 weight watchers points, don't know the calorie count but it was probably somewhere around 400-450.

In the middle of last month, I went to the doctor weighing in at 303 and decided it was definitely time to do something. I cut back on my food consumption but didn't exercise as much as I probably should. I weighed in again this morning (almost exactly a month later) at 291. I'm pleased with the loss but pretty sure that this pace is not sustainable. Does anyone else have similar stories or am I just a freak? Or is 12 pounds a month with little exercise normal if only the calories are cut?

It is at first from my experience but it will slow down as you go. Weight loss is 90% diet imo because it all comes down to cals in vs cals burnt so if you eat less you'll lose weight regardless of how much exercise you are doing. A Lady i used to work with lost 65lbs in a year without a single bit of exercise just diet so it's def possible.

I find exercise def helps though and if you want to get healthier not just slimmer it's great for you.

I try to exercise but I find I have a real lack of will. Plus, I sweat more than anyone I know so I am very self-conscious going to the gym or anything like that. My exercise has been limited to a few times of biking on our local trail.

Anything is better than nothing. I wouldn't worry about sweating at the gym, that's why you are there! Just make sure you use a towel and stay hydrated and who cares what other people think.

Motivation / lack of will is the problem for everyone (myself included). We just need to try to establish healthy habits that we can maintain rather then going from one extreme (doing nothing) to the other (going crazy and trying to do 3 hour workouts everyday etc).
