Funny that u brought this up...my cousin talked to me about it and it seems to be a good way to jump start your body into fat burning mode. He sent me the ebook and I plan to read it soon.

LOL. No. You won't be losing 1-2lbs of just FAT a week. 1-2lbs of water/muscle/fat ok, of just FAT? No, not unless you're genetics are freakishly good.

To lose two pounds a week you would have to burn 1000 calories a day OVER what you consumed.

Thats not as easy as people think.

You don't need to be a genetic freak to lose 1-2% of just body fat in a week. If you are 200 lbs, that could be between 2 and 4 lbs of pure fat a weel. Any more then that I would agree (or you need to be taking steroids).

I never tried fasting for 24 hours, I should give it a try just to see how it is..

I don't think I've ever fasted for 24 hours either. I could if I tried. Just drink tons of water.

Now we're up to saying its possible for a 200lb person to lose 2-4lbs of FAT in a week? You have anything to back this up? Just thinking about that is ridiculous. You're talking about a person burning 7k-14k calories in a week and just burning fat, which again, will only happen if you have some of the best genetics ever. What kind of diet would that person be maintaining to accomplish this? Workout routine?

I assume we're talking about under normal circumstances for the average person here? Not someone climbing mount Everest, right?

Just so we're even clearer, 2-4lbs of weight loss in a week is definitely realistic. 2-4lbs of fat? Ehhhhhh show me something that involves the actual science and isn't trying to sell you something.

April fool's joke. The mods changed avatars because they are funny pranksters. Some of them were actually funny.

I'm still here fellas, i gained 2 pounds over the weekend. Had some pizza/wings on Saturday but didn't go too crazy. Didn't eat much Sunday except sugar free popsicles.

I got weigh in tonight and I'm thinking i'm going to have gained...and just very depressed overall about how things are going with the weight loss right now. Still sticking with it though.

How do you work out after not eating for 24 hours? I think it would be a complete waste of time.

I fasted for 10 days on juice once. After day 3 I had energy for days. (Spiritual Reasons)

If you don't eat after 5 PM, you will lose weight. With a good workout plan as well.

I'm probably going to try the fasting and see how I feel. I read the ebook and it's an interesting read. I work out 3 times a week at home but just worried about going without food for 24hrs straight esp when I need the energy for work.

I lost 30lbs last year but struggling to get back on it with a girlfriend now. I want to get down to 215 this year if I can so about 35 to lose this year.

                                Good thread folks!
