I don't eat salt though and about 70% of my food is fresh vegetables, fish and fruit at this point. My lunch each day looks like a cut out from a doctors magazine, LOL

Stu - I'm doing 35 to 40 minutes of intense cardio a day, 5 times a week and usually taking about 1 to 2 20 minute walks a day for my dog. Starting this week I'm doing weights (15 reps x 3 sets) twice a week and on those days reducing cardio to 20-25 minutes.

The week before last I actually doubled my workout time to two sessions of 35-40 minutes of intense cardio a day and saw no difference at all in the results. In fact that was the first week I went from losing to nothing. I don't mind putting in the time but I'm not going to be going to the gym for an hour and a half a day and getting the same or lesser results so it just didn't seem worth it.
Agree with Sting. Increase your cardio. Try to get to 5hrs a week or as much as you possibly can. Eat 1500 cals or less a day. Do that consistently for 2-3 months and see where you are after that. You should see significant results provided you keep your diet in check and stay away from junk. As you already know, diet is the key to weight loss. Try to eat as clean as you can. Stay away from processed foods.

            Just weighed-in at 211.4

My Sparkpeople account has been the difference. I absolutely love that site. I record every thing that enters my body and record every minute of every exercise, what type of exercise, and how many calories were burned during the exercise. And the water tracker is my favorite part. Throughout the day I'll slam 2 cups of water and then run to my itouch or laptop and record it on the tracker.

What about the strength training? The people in my fat club suggested that, the trainers at the gym too. Honestly i don't care about strength, i just want to lose weight but i realize that muscles can cause a higher metabolism when you're not working out.

I would definitely recommend strength training. It doesn't have to be your typical heavy weight lifting where you take breaks in between each set. Do some kind of circuit workout where you do a lot of reps at a pretty fast pace. It will get your heart rate up, burns a ton of calories and builds muscle at the same time.

I'm doing p90x right now in which you do strength training 3 days a week. The workouts are pretty fast paced though and I find I sweat just as much during the strength training as I do the cardio workouts, sometimes more.

That's exactly what i did today. Cardio for 25 minutes on elliptical, then 45 reps (15 x 3) at each station with 30 seconds between each set, times 6 stations. Tomorrow i will do 40-45 minutes of straight cardio, then on thursday repeat the workout i did today.

Sting - I mean I don't add salt to any foods that I eat. It's impossible to eat without any sodium intake. Except maybe if you eat lettuce and nothing else. Hell maybe that'll be what I try next.

That sounds pretty good. Make sure you don't skip the legs when you're doing your weight workouts. They are a huge muscle group and a lot of the exercises (squats, lunges, etc) will keep your heart rate up.

One workout I used to do that can help break up the monotony of cardio was 15 minutes of cardio, 3 sets of legs, 15 minutes of cardio, 3 sets of abs, 15 minutes of cardio, 3 sets of pushups.

That might be something I could try then on Thursday. I've always hated doing legs for weights as it seems like a waste of time. But i'll give it a try based on what you said.

O it sounds like you a doing just about everything right. Just have to be patient and keep sticking with it. You didn't get overweight overnight so it's gonna take a long time to lose. Just have to be consistent and stick with it.

It does get bloody frustrating though!!!

Maybe try a program like p90x or insanity? They burn a heap of cals and will help tighten you up as well.

Just finished dinner. I had 575 calories total for the entire day. I know that's low, but I'm pounding my water all day to stay full. I'm stuffed right now.

Gonna go bust out some cardio and hit the sauna and burn off all those cals. I hit golf balls for an hour and a half today (4 buckets),I probably burned atleast 500 doing that.

Good job Sting. I had a piece of ham with a piece of cheese when I got home. I'm hungry now but I think i'm going to gut it out, watch Brothers and go to sleep. I'm too depressed lately to count calories but I ate well today and probably finished about 1000.
