    That's what I do. I just add some frozen berries to my protein shake and it comes out great. My typical morning shake is 2 scoops of protein, skim milk and frozen berries.

      I've used soy, but I'm sure that any milk you'd want to do is fine. Why no banana?

        Haha, well I don't like it as much but you can always get sausage light too if you want the real deal. It's more fat is all.

        Oh and as for turkey bacon, men's health says it's better to just get regular bacon that is low sodium. SO that's what I do when I want bacon.

            Man anything you through into a blender can be considered a smoothie. Don't overdo the amount of fruit in it considering the amount of sugar.

            We used to buy a large bag of Blueberries or Mixed Fruit or Strawberries from Costco and make different blends.

            Bananas are the MVP of smoothies. I need banana in ANY smoothie I make. ANY smoothie.

            Carrots can be used as well as fresh greens. (Kale or Collards or Spinach)

              Guys, you should NEVER drink soy milk! Men's Health had an article about it a few months ago, it will increase your estrogen levels to high levels. That means man boobs and your workouts will be half as effective.

              Oh and btw - I'd strongly suggest everyone subscribe to Men's Health asap, it offers a lot of what we discuss in here. It's not meant for bodybuilders but regular guys like us.

                I'm a longtime MH subscriber. I like the recipes a lot. Love the Eat This Not That app on itouch as well, that thing is CLUTCH.

                  DC - not to say you're wrong but I asked my doctor about the sugar in fruit in regards to like what you say above and he said that the sugar in fruit is not a matter to worry about at all due to the fact that it's easily broken down by the body, unlike processed sugar (man made stuff found in twinkies, ho-hos, etc). He said to not worry about eating too much fruit basically.

                  As for me, I loved adding in a banana, ice chips, some 1% milk, 2 scoops of protein powder, 2 scoops of natural peanut butter, then some real unsalted nuts for texture. Man that's a good smoothie!

                        Soybeans contain plant forms of estrogen called phytoestrogens (the chemical name is isoflavones). Phytoestrogens have very weak estrogen-like activity but can also act like antiestrogens, reducing the effects of naturally-produced estrogen. This is one reason that soy might possibly be protective against the development of some types of breast cancer which are stimulated by estrogen.

                        There is no evidence that men who eat moderate amounts of soy experience any feminizing effects, which is what I am guessing you are concerned about. Certainly we don’t see these effects in cultures where daily consumption of soy is common.
                        I've looked for a few minutes on this topic, and there seems to be a lack of study in this area. Regardless, 4 oz of soy milk a day is probably not going to make you grow boobs, if vegetarians are eating tofu and drinking soy milk far over that level.
